What people say

The owners were really friendly, and as they weren't full they gave me an upgrade from the smallest room on the top floor to a larger room on a lower floor. There was fruit in the room as well as tea, coffee and bottled water, and free WiFi too. I couldn't fault the service, and as I was staying midweek and at the back of the hotel, I wasn't affected by any noise. The central location is great.
all reviews » Everything - the very large comfortable bed, the spacious room, the spotless bathroom. The owner was very accommodating - I asked for a vegetarian cooked breakfast and this was prepared for me, and it was superb! I would recommend this hotel to others without hesitation. The location is great for shopping-literally across the road- although we went to visit a particular French restaurant L'Artisan. Cheltenham is lovely and the owners of 81, The Prom are so helpful, warm & friendly. It is close to nightclubs but it din't bother us. The location is simply the best that is possible in Cheltenham. Everything that one could expect is top notch. Newly re-done rooms in a wonderful Regency building. The food was excellent. Do yourself a favor and try their Punjabi restaurant!. The owner of an Indian couple is very friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean. Location is excellent very close to shopping area and coach station is just behind within walking distance. There is free Carpark. The staff and the owners were lovely, the rooms were clean and bright and fresh. Lovely full english breakfast. A lovely place to stay, would recommend it and the cocktails !! Location for shops good BUT big drawback with noise at night. Room comfortable. I am being really picky here, but a box of tissues in the room would have been handy. The noise from late-night drinkers leaving the pubs late at night, but this was a Friday night and in a city centre location, so this would be the same anywhere and would not put me off staying here in the future. Not that we didn't like it but it may be better to ask guests what they require on their English breakfast plus type of eggs, scrambled, poached?. We liked it all, but it would be significant to some that there are no elevators and stair access is required, even at the entrance. No lift, only staircase! But they can carry the luggages for you to the rooms. The disco at night, but, the hotel is in the town centre so this should be expected. Nothing. Slightly over keen owners (but very polite and friendly) quite cold on arrival and a bit noisy on a Friday night...small things. Night club noise. parking. N/A. Very noisy during sleeping hours (1am - 6am) due to clubbers!. Close proximity of late night clubs. Unfort it's near a nightclub so very noisy at night. Surrounded by nightclubs and a busy road at the rear and so was very noisy. Not quite ready for guests, still putting things in place. Breakfast - poor selection Stairs Decor poor Poor storage - no full length hanging. New management . Trying too hard to please . NOISE from Disco emptying and rowdiness from 12.30-4.30am. Didn't like having to give a time we were having breakfast and also having to order breakfast night before This is not what I would class as a hotel but a Bed and Breakfast should have read the reviews in more detail. Ended up costing us £260 for 1 night B+B. Very noisy.
