I was too late for the restaurant but the bar provided a very nice choice, I had tuna salad sanwich and a glass of wine, just right. The room was fine and the bath and hot water lovely. The wake up call was on time and the hotel suited my purpose. A good nights sleep prior to an intensive university study day. Staff were very helpful, food and swimming pool was fantastic. very warm in the room and traffic too noisy to open window. The full breakfast could have had more of a selection .Last breakfast time of 9.30am not conducive for a weekend stay. The walls between rooms are too thin making it possible to hear any sound from neighbouring rooms. Long walk from car park to my room as I was carrying several bags/files.The gym facilities were a bit dated and no induction was offered on the use of the machines. There is also security issues with the car park as a number of vehicles were broken into. The Heath club was very dirty and of a very poor standard. My only comment would be that the hotel needs some refurbishment, it is starting to look a little tatty, although still clean. i didnt like the automatic front doors being shut as i had to wait nearly 20 minutes to get the receptionist's attention . this was after 11 pm. another thing was that tooth paste was not available in the bathroom and there were no shops nearby to purchase them as well. then lastly, there was no room service staff available. Restuarnt /bar food was very poor and bad value for money. Room hadsmokers in previously. We stayed two nights with freezing temperatures outside. On arrival we were shown the lovely room, but there had been no heating on and we were left to try and get the heater/airconditioner working with less than adequate instructions on how to use the system. Initially we thought the heater wasn't working as, at best, it was only blowing luke warm air into the room.the hotel was very good it was our noisy neighbours who marred our weekend stay. Bathroom was a bit grotty, sink was leaking in the bathroom and a couple of areas had not been dusted in a while. Everything else very good.The light in the room is not enough to read or study during the night hours, I had to ask for lamp, but even in this case my eyes becomes really tired faster. The price! £200 per room for the Six Nations rugby weekend in question! I don't think this is the regular rate.The full english breakfast was very disappointing because the food was cold and therefore was not worth the cost. thought it was over priced. Carpets on the stair were dangerous - could have led to a nasty fall. everything was to our satisfaction. The fact that I couldn't charge my drinks and evening meal to my room number as I was paying by Maestro Debiit card. Wireless Internet connection kept dropping out. no water mixer in the toilet washbasin. noisy guests in the early hours of the morning.

New bedrooms are also available, they now feature air conditioning, a multi-channel LCD television, in-room safe and double shower (other areas are still being refurbished, please see Important Information for details).

Important information to guests
The hotel is currently undergoing refurbishment in some areas (March 2009). This work will take place between the hours of 09:00 and 17:30 (Monday to Friday), and from 10:00 to 17:30 (Saturdays). Park Inn Cardiff North assures all guests that there will be minimal disruption.

Travelling information
From the South:
M4 Junction 29 to Cardiff A48(M). Carry on along this road for 4 miles and take the 3rd turning off, sign posted Cardiff Docks East. Come up the slip road to the roundabout, take the 3rd exit to the next roundabout, take the 3rd exit off and the hotel is located on the right hand side.
From West Wales:
M4 junction 32 to the A470 to Cardiff. As you approach the city at the lights, the road rises into a flyover, which goes into the city centre. Filter left before the fly over, sign posted for Newport A48. Join the dual carriageway, the heath hospital is on the left hand side. Take the first turning off, sign posted Llanedeyrn. Come up the slip road to the roundabout and take the first exit to the next roundabout and then take the third exit off and the hotel is located on the right hand side.
