Free upgrade to a suite because we were kept waiting for 20 minutes at reception was very generous. Free internet access in the room was useful, the room was immaculate and the bar restaurant downstairs was good. The service was friendly and welcoming too. This hotel is modern, clean and spacious. It also represents excellent value and has excellent high-technology internet, tv and comms services in the room as well as essential low-technology iron and ironing board! Great breakfast.
all reviews » We liked this hotel, it had modern clean facilities and reasonable pricing. The staff were great despite being fully booked for a Wales Rugby game against Australia. It was easily reached and close to the Millenium Stadium. friendly surroundings,excellent facilities,the fact that we could leave the car and everything was at hand,or within 5 minutes walk...Thank you... we shall definitely be staying again...Once again thank you....staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and spacious, beds are large and comfortable, bathrooms well designed. The hotel is close to the waterfront area and less than £5 taxi ride to centre or arena. Everything was fine, nice hotel, good location, helpfull staff, the only sugestion is to add a fridge/minibar in the rooms, would help a lot, other than that the hotel is perfect.Everything! I canot recommend it enough. The location is spot on, the room was great and the breakfast was substantial and very reasonable. I would definitely stay again. Clean, light,airy,highly comfortable rooms. Extremely courteous and helpful staff (especially the waiter in the restaurant in the evenings). Will definately return.Plenty of restraunts nearby. It was close to the millenium centre whereI was taking the children to see a show and the staff were reallyhelpful and friendly. I stay at the hotel on a regular basis. I think the hotel staff are very friendly and nothing is ever to much trouble. The breakfast is good.Friendly staff. Modern decor and spacious. Hotel is in an ideal location.Nice, modern hotel close to the bay and only a 5 minute cab ride into town. Nice big beds and room facilities. Very spacious and comfortable room. Check in service was extremely efficient and friendly. Large, pleasant rooms, friendly and helpful staff and comfortable atmosphere. The Cardiff bay area is not yet fully developed and so there is a feeling of beiing in the middle of a development site. However, take the time to walk to Mermaid's Quay (5 mins) for a good selection of restaurants and bars if you don't want to be confined to the hotel.It is situated at the end of a retail park with a cinema and bowling alley as well as pubs and restaurants near the docks and this was the only thing that would make me think twice about taking my family - for business or for my brothers and me it was fine. The window didn't fit very well so it was a little noisy and draughty. The only negative things i have to say about the hotel is, that i was cold. I was able to put two duvets on me as the other was not in use. The heating in the room I found not effective. Also the main meals in the restaurant have on varios occassions been hit and miss. Cardiff Bay is still undergoing some developement.Only issue with the room was the lack of a mouse to use the free internet tv. The only thing I felt that the hotel was very warm and stuffy at times in the room. Other than that it was great. The breakfast, very poor. the signs for the room numbers, when leaving the lift were not clearly visiable. Bar closed early on Sunday evening!. I thought the breakfast was a bit expensive (we were charged £12.00each) but it was very nice. I had a croque monsier for lunch but didn'tenjoy it at all. Despite that, it's good value for money, idally locatedfor the Bay and with free parking.n/a. The staff of the hotel was excellent, the staff of the hotel's restaurant was a little bit "interesting"... A mixed team, but it's ok. (but not excellent) :). We were unlucky as the noise was awful I think because there were lotsof teenage guests and possibly some functions going on- poor locationof our room near to lifts first floor- I would stay again but I wouldask for a quietier room in a different part of the hotel I think wewere just unlucky with the room location and the hotel was full andvery very busy. The person who checked us in and out was a bit grumpy. Also we were not allowed to pay for our room by cash which we had already drawn out.Couldn't really get the room warm. Expensive bar. Didn't choose breakfast as we thought this was a bit pricy.
