Excellent location, large parking just outside of main entrance, well designed reception and huge rooms that could probably fit one more double bed in it. Tea/coffee tray in a room had plenty of coffee sachets and tea bags unlike other hotels that would only have one or two. Also, bed is huge, much bigger than we expected. Will definitely come again !. The staff where all very freindly and nothing was so much trouble. We will definatley be going back, we only stayed for one night but will stay for longer next time. The room was very clean and comfortable and the restaurant was good value for money.
all reviews » Very comfortable rooms, beds, air/temperature quality. Extra heater if needed (it was an icy day when we arrived) Particularly great varied choice of pillows, so we had a very good night's sleep. Breakfast & staff lovely. Comfortable room, hot weekend so air con was a plus! Spa facilities- basic but all you need and an extra luxury, the free drink voucher was a nice touch. Breakfast was brilliant.... Especially the pancake machine!. The hotel is close to shops and the city center, staff are very polite and helpful. The rooms are quite big with ensuite and tea,coffee facillities.The restaurant has a good selection of food, brekfast fantastic. Liked the room space and facilities, the swimming pool and sports rooms. Also the staff were friendly, the décor presentable and relaxing. The bed was comfortable and the freebies were good quality. We where at the Badminton horse trials and the hotel was in a great location for same. Just off the m4 j18 it was clean and served its purpose good value and a good breakfast. will return next year. My wife and I were on our way from Heathrow to Cornwall. The hotel was the perfect stopping off point: a great place to spend the night, see Bristol, and recover from jet lag. Bedroom very comfortable. Having bath and shower. Dealt with at reception with politeness and efficiency. Breakfast was excellent and waitress service quiet and efficient. Everything was great, the location was just right for what we wanted, the staff were all excellent, breakfast on both mornings was also excellent with plenty of choices. Enjoyed my stay. Would like to find better restaurant in the area. Unfortunately we were woken at 3am After a very quiet start to our night we were woken with a lot of shouting and banging which went on for sometime. I then rang reception and a reassuring voice promised to deal with situation, which they did. Having spoken to the gentleman who was on duty, he said it took a quarter of an hour to do so. He apologised sincerely for the disruption. Nothing. The car park charge for guests. The location is quite a way from city. Not the prettiest location but was very quiet. The room we stayed in had a king sized bed for which we paid extra but the room itself was no bigger than usual and suited more to business than leisure. The jacuzzi was out of order . The restaurant staff were not attentive. Bath very slippery when using shower, had to hang onto handle, no shower mat provided. Dangerous. Reported this issue to reception. Bottled water left in room for purchase, very expensive. Internet is an additional 14 pounds and quite slow. Having to pay £5.00 for parking, and if you want to watch anything that isnt only normal tv channels, you have to pay. Bottle of water in room £3.50!!!! I paid for a more expensive room and no of the above were included!. The rudeness and lack of attention given by the Head Waiter at breakfast on the second morning which was well below the standard of the Hilton. jacuzzi didn't come on in 30 mins and water was only tepid; very strong strange (? acidic) smell in corridors and room for a while, luckily it dissipated by bedtime. The room seemed very minimalistic, maybe a picture or something on the walls might be nice. Booked a double room with 2 double beds, however on arrival,there was only one bed.hotel admitted to mistake and had no other rooms available. Duty manager very kindly offered us compensation and sincere apologies. No free WIFI in the room. The Wi-Fi charge of £14.99 per night was ridiculous, the parking of £5 per night is also a first for a hotel where you are booked to stay. The room service prices were inflated as were the bar prices so you may get a great price for the room with breakfast but all the extras will actually double the size of your bill!!. No lift, even though only one floor up with a heavy suitcase a bit of a pain. Car park charge; considering I was using the Hotel. Supermarkets do not charge you for using their car parks. Parking charges on site; narrow bath; poor water flow to cistern; complex and slow tv manoeuvres. access to sauna and pool had to be through the bar, separate entry to residents would have been preferred. Disappointed not to have a complimentary drink in room as usually have had. Was charged even for the water. When I arrived at 5pm the corridor had numerous glasses, trays, plates left on the floor from the rooms. It was not a good impression at that time of day. we needed some biscuits in the room!. Didnt like the fact had to sit at side of pool to supervise a 16 yr old. Also was not made aware on website that gym was closed during out stay due to renovation. Sadly the bed spoilt our trip. It was so uncomfortable. It has not put us off staying there again though. Hoping we were just unlucky. Rooms not that sound proof. Having to eat breakfast in the bar area adjacent to the open air smoking area. we were denied access to restaurant in the evening as there were to two coach parties staying never ever been told cant use restaurant before as its closed to other guests. wont use again. price of water in bedroom (didn;'t drink it). The tv never worked in our room and had not tv all weekend :-(. No air conditioning No free wifi in rooms No fridge in room. Mould in bathroom, expensive with no breakfast included. rooms too hot and stuffy, windows only open 2 inches. £5.00 to park your car outside is scandalous, and complete rip -off along with the bar prices !. A bit too far from City Centre. Bus ride took nearly an hour and taxi expensive - £30. Free WIFI in rooms would be nice. nothing. Car parking should be included. Car parking fees as specially it's not a city centre hotel and hotel doesn't take responsibility for parking there. hard mattress on bed. booked a table in restaurant for 8 o clock but had to wait until 8.30. when we booked we were supposed to get a bottle of wine and some cakes on arrival in our room but got neither, was also supposed to have a reclining chair in room but that too was absent. Bit too far from Bristol Town Centre. Hotel looks a bit 'tired'. No lifts - big problem for people who are less mobile & no warning on the on-line description. Not there long enough to find fault.
