We selected Brooks on the basis of their location in the heart of Bristol and value for money. Staff were unfailingly professional and friendly, prepared to go the extra yard in service. The décor is clean and sharp, relatively minimalist but still comfortable. Bedroom was small which suited a short stay but may prove too petite for a longer stay with no wardrobe facility. A real positive is the free wifi throughout the premises and bedrooms. Bathroom is again a tight fit though adequate with l.

The sympathy, support and general kindness of the staff at the Guesthouse was quite amazing, making our situation so much easier and we shall always feel grateful for this. Apart from that, the room was very comfortable, the whole place was clean and well kept and the food was excellent. The welcome which we had even before our problems began was second to none and I would certainly stay there again. The warm friendly welcome. A great place to meet my son who lives in Bristol & a hotel that is in the centre of a City but is not intimidating for a person on their own. The staff gave us a friendly welcome and got us booked in quickly (as we were in a bit of a rush to get to an appointment). The room was spacious, clean and comfortable and the hotel itself felt like a secret oasis in the heart of the city centre. Plus the breakfast was wonderful - freshly prepared and very tasty. Definitely recommended. A nice little hotel, located in an old part of the city (next to St. Nicholas Market). The staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in the heart of the pub and restaurant district. Of course, that means it's very central but it's best to bring earplugs for a good night's sleep. Parking of the car is in a parking garage one block away. The negotiated tariff was not bad, though (12 pounds per 24 hours). After contaction the reception, dropping off bagage is no problem. Mattress was a little soft for my liking. Liked the breakfast menu but would have liked some fruit available. Someone emptying the bottle bin next door after midnight!. Because it was so central as you heard some of the restaurants but no one directly disturbed by. You need to be aware that as it is right opposite St Nicholas market you may be woken up early as they put the bins in place etc. We shared a triple room and would have liked the Telly to be closer to our beds to watch whilst we were relaxing. The recommended NCP car park has a very low height restriction. No chance of getting a van or 4x4 in there, you'll have to use the car park off Redcliffe St. Some guests may find it a little noisy ie seagulls and it's central location. You have the morning hustle and bustle of the lovely market and the evening noise from the bars. But these didn't spoil it for us!. It was hard to find, needed to call and be talked in, but instructions were easy to follow. Not in best area of city, but once inside hotel this is forgotten. The rain! Couldn't fault anything else. There is a noise at night due to the restaurants and bars around. Wifi not working in the room but it works into the living room. Missing a wardrobe, thats all. due to its central location brooks guesthouse is very loud during the night. earplugs are a must!. Just that I didn't stay long enough. nothing. Reception on bbc channels was poor. Can also be a bit noisy outside. Room slightly small but design compensated. Would have liked a desk to sit at. I found room a little small, though well designed to take advantage of space. I didn't sleep that well - it was a little warm and with windows open noise was sometimes an issue (mostly seagulls rather than city noise!). There was constant banging outside around 6-7 pm which was a little off putting. The room got very hot at night and therefore I had to have the fan on but couldn't sleep due to the noise it made. Rooms were quite small but adequate. The squawking seagulls in the early hours of the morning kept us awake. Bristol council should get their tame Hawk out of its cage and frighten off the seagulls !! Music and noise from the nearby pub kept us awake. Rooms are way too small. No desk to work on. Surrounding noise could be a problem if it gets busier outside eg Friday night or weekend. Was a bit noisy at night from outside. The music! Particularly at breakfast, when it was too loud and quite inappropraite, sounding like a sleazy night club. No-one would choose that music at that time of day at home (if anyone does listen to music then.) Staff were god about turning it off when no-one else was there. There was occasional loud noise of machinery banging away, I think from within the building. Difficult to find, particularly arriving by car. Small double room is really small, but just adequate. Duvet cover was too hot (but I could have opened the window to cool down). Very small room not what we'd expected having paid for a larger room. Needs more bathroom space/storage. Switching on the light in the bathroom mirror was not straightforward, I pushed what I thought was a button on the side (space to narrow to see) and nothing happened, so thought there was no light. Was told upon leaving there was some mechanism underneath (which I wasn't able to see either). A little instruction would have been helpful. no parking. Can be a bit noisy outside during the night. Didn't bother us though... Could be a little bit noisy outside.
