This is a relatively new hotel along IStiklal Caddesi – the pulse of Istanbul. I booked the hotel because it’s on sale at letsbookhotel.com at only EUR32 per night for the Standard Room for single use. Normal rate is about 100 euro. I never heard about this hotel before but their website’s photos looked really nice. I arrived very early in the morning around 8:00am, earliest check in is past 11:00am, so I asked the reception to keep my luggage and bide my time wandering around Taksim area. Lo.
all reviews » Location is great, in the center of all night and day life in Istanbul. Rooms are comfortable as nowhere else in Istanbul (I stayed in many hotels, this one is out of comparison). Walls are not thing, so you can not hear your neighbours. Rooms are big enough for Istanbul, because normally the rooms in the hotels there are tiny and dark as small caves. Serene has perfect rooms, perfect beds, perfect and very clean bathrooms (dry-hair and shampoos/toothbrush/shaving kits are included). The workin. The staff was nice and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable considering the rate. Couldn't get the TV to work, but otherwise bathroom, kitchen, storage etc were all just right. The location is great for people who want to be in the center of town, it also means you'll hear some of the late night clubs/and club goers, that comes with the location. I wouldn't make a complaint about this, but if you have trouble sleeping, you might consider asking for a room on the quiet side of the ho. The hotel is very well situated, on the main street in Istanbul, full of shops and nice restaurants. Very nice atmosphere on the street, but a little noisy during the night. The room looked exactly like in pictures and it was very clean. The best in this hotel is the staff: young nice people that want to help you feel really good. And they made it, so we`ll come back for sure in this hotel. Great location in the middle of istiklal street where it's all happening. Perfect location if you are into the night life and can easily find everything around you. Simple hotel with nice reception guys who are helpful and speak English well enough to get by. It's located at the centre of istiklal street which is very good for people who are interested to move around the centre of Taksim square.the stuff is very helpful.the rooms are very modern and nice.if i go again to istanbul,i would stay at the same hotel. I really enjoyed the staff. There were no communication problems and they were very hospitable and accommodating. Serene was in a great area in the busiest part of Istanbul. I highly recommend any solo travelers or young couples to this hotel. Hotel is located in the heart of Istanbul with modern design,clean and comfortable rooms. All members of the team were not only friendly but also extremely professional,helpful and multilingual. I would most certainly stay at Serene again. This is the second time staying here. We started our journey here and ended it here. We ended up booking here the second time because of its great location, modern rooms and great price. Lots of things to do right outside. Day and night. Excellent location in the heart of Istanbul - near everything. The hotel is not well marked on the main street (Istiklal) and we had some problems finding it. It does not have an elevator. If you're a light sleeper forget about sleeping before 5 or getting a steady nights sleep... Club music noise will keep you up till about 5. I booked 7 nights in standard room, but they gave us only a very small (ca. 6 sqm) room for the first two nights without any compensation. Apart from this inconvenience, everything was OK! It's a bit noisy, because it is in the really downtown. Concerning the night bars which are open till 4-5 o clock in the morning, you can' t sleep easily. Despite being located just off the busiest Istiklal street, the noise level was tolerable enough. And although there was not breakfast service available, there was a cafe right outside the entrance. Since it's located on one of the busiest streets in Istanbul, it can get a bit loud in the evenings, but we had no major sleeping issues. Not much...only negative I can think of is it doesn't have an elevator so it would not be good for older guests who have trouble using stairs. They don't offer breakfast. No elevator and stairs are steep (not suitable for old people). Bed was a bit small although we did not have the economic room. Hotel is hard to find.. no signs at all and the entrance 8s in back of the hotel (not on Istiklal street) but the rooms are looking on the istiklal street. the steep stairs . it does not have a meal plan but that is ok as there are loads of cafe in Istiklal street. A bit noisy from the street... But not really a matter... -A little bit noisy, but was ok. Visitors must bring passport or an id!!. Small Lobby. No elevator in hotel. Too many stairs to get to the hotel and the area was a bit noisy. No breakfast. Noisy at night from dance club next door. Third floor long way to walk up with bags... but staff helped. Might be a little noisy at night because it's near the main shopping district. Too much noise. Hot water ran out within minutes. No lift. Noise from the street and clubs, sometimes difficult to sleep at night Way overpriced. Very,very small room, walk up to the 3rd floor (no elevator), facing an alley. No breakfast option but there are lots of cafe nearby, and no lobby to wait for a guest. A bit hard to find as the hotel's entrance is hidden in a small alley.
