Very stylish new hotel in a nice district of Istanbul. We stayed for 5 days in the beginning of May, 3 days were hot, and 2 windy and rainy, and it was equally comfortable in the room. We stayed in a standard room: it is not big, but enough space for 2 people with a big suitcase. The bed is very comfortable and you can have an extra blanket on request for double bed. Bathroom is all covered with natural stone, looks really posh. The room, bathroom, towels and everything else is very clean and n.
all reviews » Very good location: on the tram line that goes to the historical center and not far from the funicular (the transportation mean) that goes to Taksim comercial area. Next to the Bosphorus touristic port and ferryboat that crosses to the Asian side. Friendly and dedicated staff. Good breakfast. Good restaurant (for having also the other meals of the day). It is a new hotel, location is very good, minutes away from the enjoyable Taksim area and Galata bridge. Also the old city centre is a few minutes by cab. The website indications about how to reach the hotel from airport using public transportation should be more precise. The combination Metro- Tramway should be explained exactly. We got answers to our e- mails only after one or two phone calls to the reception. This should be definitely improved. Internet services (Wi-Fi ) sometime not connecting well. Busy road in front of the hotel, but I guess that's normal when you book a hotel in the centre of Istanbul. If you prefer absolute silence, book a room at the back of the hotel, or the upper levels. We were there for a holiday, the hotel is not suitable if you are looking for a holiday with small children, they do not have a play area. At the check out check your bill and payments, due to lack of language skills there can be errors. Housekeeping has no idea about the Dont disturb and privacy. Doesnt matter if you turn on this function, they open the door and come. Minibar people take the food out of the freedge and put their staff. You can always talk to the reception, who are very helpful or food&beverage manager with whom we discussed a lot about. Anyhow-is a very nice hotel and you will not feel bad there. BOOK IT :):):). during rush hours it takes some time for the staff to bring the car, but it is not big deal,just have it in mind if you are in a hurry. The TV is a bit small - but do you go to Istanbul to watch TV?). Room service they open the door,walking in early in the morning, without ,permission .. managemen said they are working to solve the problems,. - Nothing. I had some electricity plug ins not working in my room!. Our room had two minor issues: first, the maid did not clean the carpets during our three day stay. Second, there had been a plumbing leak from a room overhead, in the bathroom, and the ceiling was discolored and need repair. In an hotel of this category is not acceptable the absence of a business corner with at least a pc connected to Internet and a printer. Nothing, everything was great. The standard rooms too small (barely one person could fit between the bed and the wall). My room was viewing the back garden, and there was a noisy ventilator. I could not stay with the window opened. Air conditioner fan could not be adjusted, it was just ON and OFF; but when it was ON it was really cold. No sound isolation between rooms. The house keeping. The area is isolated and doesn't have places around for money exchange and restaurant. The hotel area i not that clean. Staff didn't speak English well and are not knowledgeable to guide tourists to city tours and didn't have city map or electric adaptor for computer such as Mac and iPhones. I wouldn't recommend it for leisure travel. Take care of room selection. the king bed rooms are very tight. while rooms with double beds have a better space. Rooms were a little bit small but very comfortable nevertheless!. Hotel has no swimming pool. The staff was helpfull but couldn't organize everything we asked for. For example my husband asked for iron so that he could iron his shirt and during 3 days of our stay they couldn't organize it. The breakfast was poor as for 4 star hotel. Not a great location away from the historic center. Noisy highway nearby. Poor air quality. Sea view from the sixth floor obscured by buildings and cruise ships at the pier. Don't waste your money booking a sea view room, the view is obscured on both sides by other buildings and as per other reviews this limited view is blocked most of the time by cruise ships docking in the harbor. I'd say that the location is reasonably good, even though the hotel is located between 2 tram stations we ended up using taxis quite a bit as most restaurants and shops are just outside walking distance. We didn't have coffee every day in the room. Nothing. I booked a superior Double Room See View. The Room is Ok. However, See view completely blocked all four days except one time 1/2 day by Large Ships. As such, No see view. Housekeeping open room without asking They didn't speak English. My check out lady was very unfriendly and rude. The breakfast did not cater for most foreign tourists but it was a nice experience to have something different. One of the days I cam back to my room and the bed was not made up properly at all, the covers were just thrown over the bed... none. breakfast could have been of a better quality/variety. Poor English language from some staff. The staff opens the room very often in order to clean... The Hotel just infront of Galata Sea port , Sea View rooms has no open view when there is a big boat at the port . Aircon wasn't working in room. they told me that I can pay when I'll check out but after 1 night they charged my credit card without telling me. The view on Boshpore is more a view on a cruise boat (including the noise of the street). Problems with Internet sourced outside the htl, however for business travelers it is high inconvenience. We requested two beds in our room, the first night when we got there they were all out of those rooms. So they gave me a room with one bed, which then made us have to go book a separate room from another hotel for the night because my friend needed a bed to sleep in as well. They charged our room the next day to a room with two beds. But we still had to pay for an extra hotel for one night. Noise from the main road. The view was blocked by huge ships just opposite the hotel. Hence, we could not see the sea view throughout the stay. We have stayed on the third floor, where they kept the laundry trolleys throughout the day and every day. Hence, it looked very untidy place. Sea View Rooms is just a waste of money and the breakfast is not worth.
