Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. I was upgraded to a sea view room for free. The room was very clean and quiet. A very good value in the Taksim area. The location and the sea view. Staff are very profesional. View. Nice and clean room, very nice bathroom. Big safety deposit box in your room, big enough to hold my 2 professional dslr camera's, flash gun and 4 lenses. My laptop didn't fit though (next time I'll bring an iPad).

Well the location was good as its close to the Bus Station, Restaurants, shops etc. Luckily I had booked a Standard Room but they gave me a Suite which was OK so this was a little pleasent surprise. Nice view. Very close city center. Swimming pool, jakuzzi, view. Staff at reception works like robots without any smile.Only the hotel location and attitude of the reception staff was good. Nothing, awfull experience. nothing. i didn't like my stay at the hotel Grand Star. nothing. Small bathroom. Hard bed. TV is difficult to use and only one non-Turkish channel. When taking a shower the mirror in the bathroom will steam up quickly. Breakfast is not very interesting, the same every day, and not suited for sandwich or pancake lovers. The receiption staff were on occasions unhelpful, and would only allow guests back to the room after paying a fee.I booked a triple room and I supposed that it is an apartament, not the same room like the double one - with an pliable bad... The breakfast, the swimming pool, some staff not speaking english. Well the Hotel was not that classy as it looked in the Pictures on sites/internet. The view /pictures on the Hotel on the site were smartly done and did not really match with the actual feel and experience. Bathrobes and towels, no extra services were given because ofreservation through bookings.com. There are many things that we did not like, such as 1) Room Service was bad. 2) Airconditioner was being switched off by the hotel management again and again and it was really uncomfortable to sleep. We opened the balcony door for some air, the mosquitoes came in. 3) Drainage in toilet was not ok and it was really disgusting. Even after many complains they did not fix it. 4) Water Leakage was also. Everything was awfull, wasting of money and stressfull atmosphere, feeling like a jail or in holl !. the rooms, the facilities,resturant and servicies.
