It was completely renovated with comfortable, clean modern rooms. I travelled with my 88-year old mother, and it was very easy for her to get around with her walker. The breakfast buffet was simple but nice, with both Tunisian and continental items. The location was superb, right on Avenue Bourguiba, close to everything to see in Tunis. The staff are so nice and friendly; it was nice to speak French with them. Extra bonus; we stayed on the 3rd floor, reserved for non-smokers, and the wifi was e.

The location was perfect to walk around town, the breakfast was between 06:00-10:00 so unlikely to miss it plus, it was an unlimited buffet. The room was big and had wooden and glass design, modern art painting and a flat screen tv on the wall. Clean towels every day. Elevator, wheelchair access and laundry services also available. The rooms are spacious and very well-furnished and always cleaned up. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. I had one problem with the AC in my room and once i told the receptionist about it someone was sent and it was sorted out right away. The breakfast was excellent and i had absolutely nothing to complain about during my stay at the hotel. The room had just been refurbished with very nice modern decor, good aircon and triple glazing, so it's very quiet. Work continues but we weren't bothered by noise. Decent breakfast buffet in the airy period dining room was a great start to the day. Excellent position with cafés and restaurants all around and the medina a short stroll up the avenue. For an 3-star hotel it was excellent value with comfortable rooms and nice decor. It was a great location. I liked the mix of old and new in the hotel. You could feel the history, yet the furnishings were new and in good condition. The staff was very friendly. Staff at Hotel Carlton are really great. They go out of their way to help you and are always friendly and courteous. The location is in center of Main Street in city center, every thing is close train taxis, restaurant, shops, cenima and a lots of coffee shop. The only problem with this hotel is that it is located in traditional area .. -Location-close to medina and central train station. Rooms have been renewed and they look new and nice. the staff were friendly. There was nothing we did not like; it was a nearly-perfect experience!. No balcony at my room and it would really be great if there was a water boiling machine in it, for making a cup of tea or a coffe at any time wanted. A small part of the dinning room is currently under constraction, but that is not of any discomfort to any of the residents or to the activities taking place (breakfast). Almost everything and everyone was/speaking only French as a second language, but you get by with a little bit of body language after all... :-). Nothing. Phone calls are extremely expensive (3.5 dinar=1.75 euro pro minute). They charge you even if you could not reach the recipient. However, when faced with an surprisingly high bill, I expressed my suprise to the staff and they immediately solved the problem and divided the bill by 5. The room service is not that good. Very low internet signal in room even if it is free. You end up going downstairs in th esmall lobby to have a good internet session. Not so bad after all. Breakfast was poor and there are finger prints in the glasses, but it's OK. break fast could be better. but i guess it was good as per tunisian culture / habits. nothing. Front staff gave me incorrect information about the opening hours of the hammam around the corner so I missed my opportunity to visit the hammam. I wasn't able to access the wifi for the duration of my stay, and they didn't have an IT specialist to help me. bad wi-fi, noisy corridors... The parking is indoors and very tight to navigate. The hotel itself was hard to locate as signage was covered up by foliage. Noise during the night from other rooms Construction noise. Breakfast, as I preferred vegetarian Food. But even though the food was good. under rennovation. Perhaps providing some shampoo in the shower would be helpful. A personal who ask me a tips. would have welcomed a cold bottle of water in the fridge in my room on arrival. Breakfast was only average. at first visit room with window for a closed cavern... at second visit ok. some noise in the morning. no dinner. Breakfast was very bad, few &salad not fresh, not much to select. mosquitos, satelite tv did not work. there are scam people waiting in front of the hotel. no comment. Friendliness of the staff. the bad smell which come from some where in the hotle.the high price of the accomodation for the night. A minibar would be very useful in hot days. refurnishing at this time and poor buffets menu. Old design, poor breakfast buffet. Renovations still in progress, creating some noise and dust. Continual noise and rudeness from other guests seemed to be ignored by the staff. Nothing. small rooms. Poor Breakfast, slow & unreliable internet. double bed requested butnot given. breakfast. The facilities is very poor and noise, even any one walk out side you can hear him while your sleep, There no ironing facility in the room. -Mosquitos in the room everyday (we guess entering via the ducted air conditioning). -Breakfast was not fresh -Bedsheets were torn -Front desk staff were run off their feet -Double room bed was two separate single beds just pushed together (no attempt to even makeup as a doublebed). Unfriendly staff at reception. They insist on daily pay of your hotel bill. No drinks available to purchase on room or in the hotel. the room was small !!.
