We had heard a lot of negative comments about the staff being rude and barking orders about fines for towels and room key, they are just doing their job people. They collected us from the pier as it is a walk (5 minutes) to the hotel a staff member extremely friendly insisted on taking our luggage ( 2 suticases weighing more than 50kg in 36degrees). When we arrived at 11 we were told check in is at 2 which we knew but were told to pop back at 12 and they'll do their best and at 12 on the dot it.
all reviews » Ok this is a really clean and neat hotel in phi phi. Its hard to find a decent mid priced hotel as most of the reviews for other hotels are shocking but this is perfect. Its location is perfect for everything, its 5 mins stroll to the pier, in the centre of town but facing into a courtyard pool so no noise from outside. A few minutes to the beaches. Definitely pleased with this hotel. Its a little more exspensive than a similar hotel in Phuket, but everything on Phi Phi is due to transport cost. This is a perfect hotel if you want to visit Koh Phi-Phi in comfort. Most places in town are small hostels, but the Palmtree is literally a resort with inner garden/swimming pool in the middle of the town. It is slightly overpriced though and I wish the breakfast offered more traditional Thai food. Overall, being in Palmtree makes you feel that you are not in Koh Phi-Phi anymore and I found that it was slightly overpriced. Close to port. Free internet. Pool side rooms are great, though didn't take advantage of it. Cheap. Clean. Staff slow to warm up to, but eventually we got on there good side and they were very helpful. EVERYTHING is close by. Would stay again. People who complain about mosquitos, must realize they are in a tropical environment, its not the hotel's or island's fault. The hotel was near from the beach and also near of phi phi's "downtown". Luckily the distance from Loh Dalam Bay was enough not to hear the techno music every bar on the beach plays form 10 pm to 2 am in the morning (which can be ok for one day but not for a week). The pool was very good. Just around the corner from the main island pier and all the shop, reataurants and bars, yet quiet and peaceful. Beautiful swimming pool, good breakfast though coffee could be improved :) Cheerful staff and immaculately clean, huge pool-vier room on third floor. I loved my stay here. The bathroom and rooms were very clean and the decor was lovely. The location was superb, right in the heart of Phi Phi with a 1 minute walking distance to the beach. The breakfast had a large selection of food available. The hotel pool was exceptionally clean. Location. Close to the pier, restaurants, inside if the village. Basic accommodation, however I do not believe there are any 5 star hotels on the Island Breakfast basic Reception staff initially a bit cold, but then we got on her good side and she was great. The staff was nice but they could be a little bit more polite. Everything was very good, I have no negative comments. The air conditioning wasn't very strong. You have to stand under the air con to get any air. Breaksfat is very limited. No much options. Smiles missed from the front desk staff. Overall the hotel was lovely, and kept spotlessly clean, but I was very disappointed to see Phi Phi island on a whole- it was dirty and cluttered- this wasn't helped with the constant rainshowers! I would only recommend going for a day trip!. hotel is based around the pool with everyone looking onto the one spot. Can be a little claustrophobic. Also I thought it was a little expensive given it is a 3 star but understandable due to the lack of accommodation at this range in this location. Phi phi is a horrible place! No night time activity in the hotel. Not enough pool chairs. Pool bar not open. Very small pool area although we tended to use the beach the majority of the time. The island is too tourism with to much party people such as the ballerman on mallorca. Relatively small room;. - The pool is average and there's not a lot of space to sunbathe. Breakfast wasn't that great. Overpriced. The staff was not friendly, the don't speak too much English. There is no bar in the pool. The wifi is only at the lobby. The sea is not at side, you have to walk about 7 mins. The staff were not very helpful, I had my bag stolen one night with my key card in and I had to fight to get back in my room and was told I would need to pay for a replacement card. Also not very helpful when our towel went missing from the balcony and almost nearly charged us for this but we refused!. The Wi-Fi was pretty sketchy and the staff were initially a little cold, but we found this to be the case on phi phi anyway. Staff were polite but not overly friendly. This hotel places unreasonable demands on its guests which resulted in a number of negative experiences. These include: -No smoking at all on the premises (even on balconies or outdoors). -No bringing outside guests past 10 at night. -No concierge services past 10. -Very rude staff who challenge hotel guests that they are guests at every tur. Pool doesnt get much sunshine. Room decor is a little dated. Staff is very unfriendly!!!. 3 minutes walk from the beach, The hotel was locate near some resturant which made bad smell outside the room. service at breakfast was pathetic and slow. short of manpower , not interested to work !. the room was overpriced ! will never stay here again.! so small as well. The noise from the AC, altho it cancelled out thebnoise from the next door nightclub. Not on the beach and unite over prices for Thailand. Breakfast is very poor, the stuff is very unfriendly. When we arrived they said the cant accept credit cards because the machine was broke. I heard from others that its alway broke. The ATM near the hotel charges a very high commission. The high speed wifi is slow and the room on the second floor was very noisy. My sons room did not have hot water and they could not fix it with the 5 nights . we been there. Staff were rude, there is a swim up pool bar and a restaurant neither were open, they said they do not have enough staff. Absolutely no care factor for anything. It should be called a hotel because it is not a resort. No mini bar, no room service. 1 towel each day, don't even think about asking for another one because you will get yelled at. Also don't complain to them about anything as they will threaten to kick you out!. We arrived for our honeymoon and got given two single beds. The staff was more concerned about the blue towels than anything else. Nothing on the premises but breakfast with your coupon...and make sure you bring that coupon with you!! I felt like we weren't trust at all with anything! Out of our trip this was the most expensive place we stayed and PP Palm Resort will NEVER see us or any of our friends again!. Staff was unfriendly, the hotel is too restrictive, for that money I would expect more. Super dirty. Smelly. Unfriendly. Terrible decoration. Not hot water. No staff after 12 midnight.this is not a resort. Its a joke.
