The best I liked in Thailand is Koh Chang and it's due to Garden Resort as well. I looked through about 100 Chang's hotels on letsbookhotel.com and there wasn't a moment I regretted about my choise. Spacious, clean and comfortable bungalow, various breakfasts - both European and Thai food, great dining area and natural environment. Special thanks to Mr. Mause (or Mouse, "like Mickey Mouse"), the owner - very friendly, helpfull and cheerful. There is everything you need in his kingdom - wonderfu.
all reviews » Really big and comfy bungalow with a great double bed and a big bathroom including a beautiful open shower with walls in black stone. Cleaning was good and high standard resort in general. Good and clean swimming pool. Good breakfast. Owner readily available and nice to deal with. He was really helpful by letting us stay a couple of hours beyond normal check out time. Location is good near some beautiful beaches. Very nice garden/setting and pool, quiet and relaxing, clever use of the property and placement of huts/rooms, you certainly don’t feel crammed. Rooms quite good, breakfast adequate. Excellent drinks at the Backstage bar, the girl fixes the drinks by the book and they come out right. The Thai staff is quite responsive and efficient though not exactly smiley, the manager/owner quite helpful. Everything, the location was great, the hotel was comfortable, quiet, the swimming pool great, the breakfast was basic but nice, and the staff was friendly. One point is if you look for parties then is not the place to be but if you want to relax and enjoy yourself this is the place to be. The attitude of the staff and attention to detail were super.We were made to feel that we were privileged guests despite Garden Resort being full! Nothing was too much trouble. The rooms and other areas were clean and well maintained. We were well looked after in this hotel. It is within an area with plenty of restaurants and shops, not far down to the beach, but it is tucked away and quiet. The owner is very helpful and was happy to arrange various trips etc. This place was awesome! I would return in a heartbeat. The beach was so serene, calm, and yet beautiful. I will return to Koh Chang, it is so much more worth it than the super busy and developed touristy areas. I loved Koh Chang. The resort, owner and staff are all top notch, rooms are clean, spacious and well equipped given it's not an executive city hotel. We have been here before, and have extended our stay twice whilst here this time. No nonsense approach of the (Dutch) owner, who if you re lucky enough, plays some guitar in his own Backstage Cafe Bar at the main road. Friendly staff. Good cleaning. walking distance from beach. The owner was a guy really friendly and helpful. He is dutch and his English is excellent can save you from Scams big time. He made our stay memorable and something i will cherish. The room, although clean and fresh at check-in, as part of the daily servicing it was just superficially swept and the bathroom was not cleaned. One morning, they saw us sitting on the balcony, asked if we'd go out so that they'd clean, we said we'd leave in 10 minutes and then they just gave us our towels and left. It was just 10:00. Maybe it's a Thailand service view, but bathrooms are just not cleaned during one's stay and that's about it. Not particular to this hotel only. nothing. Can't think of anything. If you want to party and mingle with the singles, this area is not for you! It is more laid back, for couples and families and people who want to appreciate the natural beauty of thailand without the hustle and bustle of the Euro club scene influence. The Internet connection isn't great. And my wife, but I can't really blame that on the Garden Resort. Due to sheltered location of bungalows at night a lot of mosquitos which prevented us from sitting outside at evening and night. Nothing. Maybe a mirror in the bedroom?. The way to the beach takes 5-10 minuts, no sunchairs at the beach, very depthless sea, you need to go 100 meters in to the sea if you want to swim. Not directly at the seaside (have to walk 5 mins). A bit far from the 'white sands' main location of Ko Chang, where the beaches are better. - Nothing. no. the entrance to this resort is kind of surprising , it is located on the road between shops and one can not tell that there is a small hotel behind. no pictures showing this in the site, another point is the cellular reception in part of the resort is bad, actually there is no coverage in part of the village. Expensive compared to other similar quality hotels, especially related to the location. Suggest adding insect screens to windows for those who prefer to keep the windows open at night instead of using the airconditioning.
