We really enjoyed our stay in Sakorn Residence. We had a really big room with a big king size bed, a big balcony, a nice bathroom with a big shower and a safe and fridge in our room. The hotel is located just outside the Old Town. It's a ten minute walk to the night market, and only five minutes to some really nice restaurants. The hotel has a small but nice swimmingpool. Perfect to cool down after a hot day in Chiang Mai. For breakfast, you have to choose from 5 set menus instead of a buffet, .
all reviews » We had the 2 bedroomed apartment and it was huge! It was beautifully clean and modern and in great condition. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Although it is a 10 minute walk to the town it is very handy for the great restaurants by the river (we ate at 3 of them) and is in a quiet area so you are guaranteed a good nights sleep. Fantastic place to stay. Sakorn residence was the best hotel we stayed in Thailand and I would suggest everyone to stay here if they visit Chiang Mai. The staff was very helpful, the rooms were crystal clean, the bathrooms were very good and the pool is clean and relaxing. The breakfasts (compared to other places we stayed) was very good as well. It was my second stay at Sakorn Residence and like the first time I felt like in home. Very friendly and helpfull staffs. Quiet and residencial lane, but not far from the spots. Nice restaurants, bars and posh boutiques along the main road by the river. Anyway, I really did enjoy my last stay at Sakorn Residence. Massive, ultra-clean rooms. I arrived after two days of traveling and fell into a huge comfy air conditioned bed. Big fridge in room with very cheap minibar stuff in and plenty of room for your own things. Staff incredibly helpful. Price ridiculously cheap for what you get - breakfast even included. I loved the ample size of the room and bed. It was very clean and maintained everyday. The pool was nice and clean and a good size for swimming. The location was good for getting into the city, easy walk. The lounge furniture was very uncomfortable and furnishings very sparce .The kitchen had very little crockery and no cutlery no bottle or wine openers. The breakfast was very dull and boring. Not really! Definitely will stay next time when in Chiang Mai. Would appreciate proper coffee for breakfast instead of Nescafe. But nothing really to complain about. a little bit far from old downtown. For Chiang Mai standards the breakfast could be a bit healthier. I would wish as well longer opening hours of the swimming pool in the late evening. Breakfast menu, more vegetarian (no egg, eating eggs few days in a row is a bit too much) continental options would be good. Leaving Chiang Mai...could have stayed in Chiang Mai and this hotel longer. Not much. Beds were quite hard. Nothing. Breakfast is good, but can add more variety for those staying long. All good, no negatives whatsoever. Nothing. Nothing. Nothing. Take a room with a front side view. We had a room at the back side but there is a giant fence so we didn't use the balcony. No diner only breakfast and lunch. The staff arranged a airport transfer, 200 thb. On our way to the hotel costed 180 thb.... Strange... A/C needed little maintenance. There was no coffee, or tea available or little bathroom accessories. Difficult to get meals and refreshments on site. Not many restaurants in the area. Need transport to get there. noisey fridge and air conditioning, location from city was about 20 min walk to old city. Bit of a walk from the centre of town but tuktuks are cheap. Nothing. Mattress a bit on the 'firm' side. Gug but no tea or coffee. The breakfast, whilst fine for a couple of days, was a bit monotonous on day 7. They should offer "real" coffee too :-). Small pool area Breakfast was a bit lacking choice.
