There is so much to like about Baan Boo Loo! The staff was wonderful and really took excellent care to see to mine and (I noticed ) the rest of the guest's travel needs. They held a banquet and lantern ceremony for us one evening, which was really special, since none of us had seen them or done that before. So many extra touches and a caring group running Baan Boo Loo! It was always being cleaned and there was always someone available for whatever may come up that you required. It was very clea.
all reviews » We had a wonderful time at Baan Boo Loo. The whole team was very nice, helpful and friendly. It was like being a-part-time-family-member. The staff is very helpful and recommends the best places and even acts as personal tour guide, gives nice recommendations for other hotels or things to do. At very short notice everybody is there to help you and make the stay to having a good and relaxed time. Especially if you stay there a bit longer, than only one or two nights. All rooms are made with a hi. On paper, Baan Boo Loo appears to be a good place. The location is great: in the old city close to the most famous temple In Chiang Mai. The property is very nice with traditional thai buildings on stilts. However off paper is where Baan Boo Loo really shines. Adi and his attentive, carrying staff help make every moment at Baan Boo Loo a special one. Frequently helping with day plans, helping us understand Thai culture, providing refreshments without needing to be asked... It makes you feel lik. Everything. Very peaceful location inside the old city and the hospitality of the owner and staff was above what was expected. The garden was beautiful and although more like a traditional Thai home, they respected your privacy while being available at any time to assist you. Invited by owner for complimentary traditional Thai meal in garden with other guests which was delicious and something you would not get at the big hotels or many guest houses of similar kind. Would definitely stay there a. The hotel was lovely, and the room (we stayed in the airconditioned honeymoon/executive sweet) was the perfect combination of comfort and traditional thai design. The staff was wonderful, going out of their way to make sure we had breakfasts cooked before our tours started each day, and even organizing massages at a great local spa after hours. Although we kept ourselves quite busy while visiting Chiang Mai, we would have been just as happy lounging around the hotel for a few days with nothing . I loved this place and will be staying again soon. The owner was very friendly and helpful, and the design of the bungalows is beautiful, and private. The details are very impressive as well, such as the shampoo and soap jars, fresh flowers, robes, and bottles of water to name a few. This is a beautiful little oasis in Chiang Mai. My only regret was that my husband was not with me to enjoy it! We will definately go back. The environment is great, oasis in the city centre, just few steps walk to Sunday market. The garden and dining area is relaxing. The host, Louie and On, are super nice and we are just like friends. They share lots of Thailand culture and own experiences. A home-feel hotel instead of a luxurious one which we really like. Very delicious and local style dinner. It was my first visit in Thailand, and will never never stay anywhere else than at baanboo loo. It is about double the expense of most places in the area. The excursion trips are also a little more expensive then listed other places. However, it is more of a luxury stay and you are fully taken care of for the money with accommodations and service to match. No pool here, but that was not necessary for me. The only drawback was that during several afternoons, construction crews were working on a building at the back of the property, making a lot of noise. This was during the day though, and not in the early morning or at night when guests would have been asleep. I liked everything. Privacy for open air lanna room could be improved especially the around the door of the shower area. We honestly can't think of any negatives. We've already recommended Baan Boo Loo to another friend and couldn't imagine staying anywhere else if we return. Don't be put off by street. Once you are inside the courtyard you are in a lovely peaceful spot. nothing. A couple of minor points that in no way spoilt my stay. The hot water ran out fairly quickly in the shower - if two people shared the room the second might have to wait before they could shower. Breakfast, whilst good, could have a slightly wider range, but this is a guesthouse and not a hotel. The grounds mean the inevitable mosquitoes - be prepared. I wish the cook didn't have cats nearby and touching the cat. Given the open nature of the kitchen that may not be possible, but it was a little surprising. I really loved almost everything. We stayed in the executive suite with our two young boys in the bunk room which is a seperte space a few steps away because that is the only way we could book it. We moved them into the fold out couch in the adjacent sitting room. It was cooler and we felt more comfortable having them close. Some parents may feel differently but I wanted my 6 year old close by. The open air bathroom could have a little more covering over toilet area. Nothing. Would have liked a recipe book with the cookery school evening that they provided. It was much more expensive than other providers and other providers also provide a recipe book and 1 person per wok. Whereas it was a shared wok but it was a lesson for the 2 of us, so would have expected to pay a bit more but should have included these two things. Beds are hard. We love everything!!. a little expensive. n/a. For the price, i expected a lot more.
