Upon arrival I was given a written invitation to a cocktail and canapé evening. This was extremely enjoyable with the chefs from each of the 3 restaurants delivering the dishes and explaining each canapé, culminating in the head chef speaking to us all. The event was perfect in size with just 8-10 people. Good food, excellent drinks (try the hangovertini, it's a must) and very informal and informative. The staff really do go out of their way to make you welcome, Shaun Mills and his staff where .
all reviews » My third time staying at this hotel, and is still the best so far comparing to the other two bedroom apartment I have stayed in Bangkok. Room is very spacious and hotel amenities with the washing machine and dryer inside the room is a plus... Definitely will stay again.....maybe will try to stay at the hangover suite.... Apartment was spacious and layout was good. Walking distance to BTS Taksin. Direct access to expressway ramp to Airport (important with unpredictable actions of protesters). Great view of river, city and protest march from very high floor. The suites are nice and comfortable. Breakfast and breeze lounge access are nice. Located close to the river and sky train station. 30 minute Airport transfer. River facing room was fantastic and so much room to relax. We were on the 59th floor with beautiful views. Tower Club benefits were to die for !!!. Staff were faultless. Room was lovely. Breeze Bar is an excellent place. Pool was cold but clean. Views are unbeatable. Excellent room with great view of Chao Praya. Welcome fruit platter. Great breakfast selection. Skybar. Security. Finest buffet breakfast I ever had in any hotel I have stayed in. The only downside to this hotel is the famous sky bar where the film Hangover 2 was filmed; due to this you do find the small bar very busy due to non residence coming to visit. I spent no more than ten minutes at this location. Elevators can be slow in the evenings. Sharing with guests going up to restaurants. Service staff also use guest lifts instead of their own. Buttons for 2 sets of lifts slow everyone down. Restaurants are expensive. Enjoy a drink in the sky bar and have diner across the street of the hotel for a fraction of the price. Having to leave and fly home. Everything was just perfect. One thing that was a bit annoying was my husband had to wear long pants each time we went to the Tower Club for drinks or afternoon tea and some of the women were dressed very casually which seemed a bit strange to us. The fact that my shower went from hot to cold and did not stay a stable temperature. This is not what I would have expected from such a highly rated place. I also got terrible food poisoning at this hotel. Check in process was a bit slow. House-keeping staff lacked understanding of basic English language skills. Rather dated rooms that need a bit of a makeover. no alcol inside the room's fridge. Our baby got food poisoning in the tower club. It is further a big disadvantage that our baby wasn't allowed in any of the restaurants for dinner. Staff at Club Tower. The only thing that I could mention about this trip was the fact when I had dinner at the sirocco the night last before my checking out was that I cut my inside lip on a water glass right before dinner. I asked for an ice cube to stop the bleeding. It was very disappointing that the glasses wear not checked properly.
