I came across this hotel on a second or third search of hotels in Bangkok and what a stroke of luck. Opulence and style is exactly what this hotel offers, for an unbelievable price. Location is very good in that the hotel is right next to a sky train station, close to the river and close to the Silom area for nightlife. There is also a great laundry in a mall a few doors down. But there aren't too many restaurants or bars in the immediate area if you arrive in late and just need to eat and slee.

We stayed two times at this hotel during our trip around Thailand and we enjoyed all the conveniences it offered. First the location is great. It offers direct access to sky train station which we found it very convenient. All the major must see sights areas are accessible with sky train in couple stations maximum. The room was good size with modern style, furnitures and big nice bathroom. Everything was clean. Our room was located on 26th floor and had great city / river view. Evenings you can. The Eastin Grand is a luxurious hotel so well located in Bangkok. First about luxury. We stayed here for eight nights in February.with a room on the 31st floor. The room was very well appointed, spacious with king size bed and adjoining shower for two. There's also a business center on the ground floor with four computers with internet connections and free copies of the International Herald Tribune available. Breakfasts are buffet style and offer, plentiful, delicious food. The wonderful . My boyfriend and I stayed at the Eastin Sathorn for 3 nights, but I wished we booked for a longer period! Everything was perfect: the infinity pool overseeing the city is amazing and exactly what a tourist needs after a day visiting the city. The skyline is amazing. Breakfast was superb, with all you can imagine (oriental food, continental, sweets, fruits, cereals....). Unmissable the fish dinner buffet: for approx. £15 each (all guests should benefit from a discount) you can eat all sort of im. I loved the service at Eastin Grand. The staff was extremely caring and made our stay memorable. My wife is gluten intolerant, however, we did not notify the staff about this allergy. We ordered a gluten free pancake for morning breakfast, which was unfortunately not available. The next morning we were pleasantly surprised to see a note from your staff asking us about the type of allergy and how they could help us. And on reaching the breakfast buffet , there was already a plate of gluten fr. The Eastin was a very nice surprise as it actually offered even more than we expected. We stayed as a family of 4 with 2 nearly adult kids and we all loved everything about the hotel. The rooms are stylish, the beds comfy, the bathrooms very modern and the view at night when you lie in bed is just magnificent. The breakfast buffet is very broad, it offers something for everyone and they change what is on offer daily to offer a bit more variety. The gym was the best gym I have ever had in a hote. We have booked the hotel before on the executive level, but honestly I think that for a family with small children it is nicer on the 'normal' rooms. A bit more busy with breakfast, but the buffet is much better and there are childrensseats and childrensplates/nives and forks available. The hotel is very luxurious with al the facilities you need to make your stay more comfortable. The hotel also have a kids club, but we have not used them. A perfect base for a citytrip or as the start/finish fo. The Gym was modern and very clean and comfortable with amazing views. The pool was the most fantastic pool of any I have ever seen with open views over Bangkok's skyline. Wow!. We took the executive room on advice and what great advice. Breakfast daily included with room charge and the food was superb. Also with this came a cocktail happy every night for two hours with food. Unbelievable really. Room was huge and room service was so fast, very clean and very modern décor. The best. A short one. Location was very central - connection to skytrain is a big bonus, making it easy to travel to tourist spots, shopping and anything else you wish to see. Rooms are very nice - very spacious, good views, big bed, nice pillows, very wide hallways. Unfortunately no bathtub in the bathroom, but not a big deal for us. Amazing view from the pool - can see the Iebua state tower and sunset over the city. Excellent local thai restaurant is just walking distance - Ban Somtum - only locals in here, but th. The staff were brilliant, very friendly and welcoming ! The hotel itself is lovely, super clean and modern rooms. There is a walkway right into the BTS station from the hotel which is really good for transport. The infinity pool is awesome!! And finally the breakfast is INCREDIBLE !! They have everything !!! From Asian noodles prepared in front of you, fresh fruit, juices of all kinds, loads of different fresh breads and pastries, all the hot food like lovely sausages and eggs all being prepped. I liked everything. I almost didn't believe the reviews since the rating was so high but we were not let down. The hotel is directly connected to the metro, a stop away (or 5-10 minute walk) from the boats up and down the river. The hotel includes a great breakfast. The rooms have an amazing view and are well designed, exceptionally clean, and still smell new even! The pool is amazing with a terrific view as well. I stayed at the Chatrium my last visit which is a great hotel but this was better. We loved this new luxury 5 Star hotel l which we highly recommend it as the best place to stay at if you want to spend a wonderful few days in Bangkok. The 14th floor infinity pool area with bar and restaurant was really a great place to unwind at after a hot day in Bangkok. This hote. it was an excellent experience staying in such a wonderful hotel. Staff were more than efficient, with a lovely smile. Swimming pool was amazing. Breakfast hall was large and well managed. It contained more than one cuisine under one roof. The skyview room was comfortable and cozy. Connecting the hotel to the skytrain station is smart. What made me really love this hotel is the extra mile each staff is welling to go for my stisfaction. All in all, this is a ginuine 5 star hotel with excellence. The hotel is conveniently located next to the train. We stayed on the 24th floor looking out towards the river and enjoyed much the same view as from the infinity pool on the 14th. The room was large, with big windows, good curtains, great bathroom. Breakfast was plentiful with good choice. For one day/night we could see something of the city, get around easily, go shopping and in the evening booked a dinner/cruise on the river. Staff were courteous and helpful. Good value for money!. Eastin Grand Sathorn is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. Very friendly helpful staff. We were treated like Royalty nothing was too much trouble. We stayed in an Executive Deluxe Room it was worth the extra. Pure luxury & the Executive Lounge was amazing. Service fantastic. Would highly recommend this hotel. Location perfect for getting around the hotel even gives you free daily MRT (Skytrain) tickets & is attached to a station by a link bridge. Perfect!. Excellent stay, perfectly located opposite a skytrain station (Sathorn). The nicest staff ... I was a little sick & Jacky one of the waiters at breakfast offered me fresh ginger, lemon & honey to ease my throat,,, and each morning he saw me he would bring me some .... To be honest, Easting@Sathorn was above my expectations. My fiancee and I stayed 4 nights and even if we used the hotel as a B&B, not using to eat at the Hotel (gone madly walking through the city), my sensations are that also eating, join the infinite pool and other activities, would be above as well. Book a deluxe superior room, an high room worth it. Landscape is astonishing, from both Sathorn rd and pool viewpoint. Enjoy the hotel. Everything was really at the top..the staff was supportive, skilled and very kind..14th floor pool was really cool and long, you could really swim..the view on the Chao Praya from the room was great!!and also position of the hotel near the sathorn central boat pier and the bts stop inside the hotel made it really easy to move across the city. Excellent breakfast, though the breakfast room was a bit packed. Large clean and comfy room, clean and comfy bathroom. I thoroughly enjoyed my 4 night stay at Eastin in early May. There isn't one thing I could complain about. In my opinion, everything was astounding, from the exceptional customer service, great food with several dinning options, Transportation friendly location(taxi's outside the hotel and you can get to the train station from the 3rd floor) and not to mention the clean and comfortable rooms with sound proof walls that also have a beautiful view of the city. * We booked a room without "free cancellation", missed our connection flight and arrived one day late. The hotel added one day at the end of our stay for no additional cost after we explained the circumstances to the personnel. Great service! * The restaurants and the room service were really good, the breakfast buffet had a lot of different choices. * The connection to the Skytrain station was really convenient. * The "Infinity Pool" had a great view. Is one sky train station away from central pier to go site seeing by express tourist river boat. Eastin was delightful hotel. Service, room, staff, excellent. (Food was good when we could get it. Restaurants did not stay open advertised hours.) There are not many other nice restaurants, or tourist attractions near Eastin. You must get on skytrain and go somewhere. We loved the room, the view, the comfortable beds, the beautiful bathroom and plentiful hot water. The pool area is wonderful. Food and service there very good. We lived the corner room with the windows looking out over bangkok. The bathroom was fabulous and it was a great to sit in the tub watching the hustle and bustle of bangkok far below. The exec lounge was fabulous with great nibbles in the evening. All members of staff were polite, friendly and really helpful. Loved the location with sky train access meaning you didn't have the usual walk to and from the sky train stop. Very good breakfast. Breathtaking views from the room. Had a night bath on 21st floor with panoramic view on the night Bangkok. Hotel has a skybridge to Surasak bts station and only few stations away from Siam Paragon and World Center shopping malls. Took a bts to Phai Tay and then Airport express - it took us less than 50 minutes and 115 baht per person to get to the airport. Also, minibar was surprisingly cheap :). Good value for money for a high end hotel. We accidentally booked an 'executive' room rate which turned out to be a great 'value for money' treat with rooms with the best view, our own concierge, reception and lounge area. The infinity pool is also really nice, although it got a bit crowded on a sunny Sunday. Great location for the higher end hotels, bars and then on to experience the sights and sounds of Patpong!. Food for the brakfast was great with a lot of choise! On the 14 floor thare is a beatuful pool with very nice view. From internatinal airpot you can take a train and go to the last station. From there take onother sky train (ask somebody) to station surasak. Sky station is connected with hotel. you can also get a taxi but there is alot of trafic jam in that area (hour experince was this was a faster way). - the presence of a skytrain station just in front of the hotel (accessible via a footbridge from the hotel itself) - the location of the hotel, close to the chao phraya river (less than 5 minutes with the skytrain) - the professionalism and the kindness of every staff member we had to deal with - the cleanliness of the rooms and hotel facilities - the great view of the city (we were on the 26th floor). the location of the hotel is really great, it's close or easy to connect to main touristic places and shoping centers. there is a staytion of SkyMetro you can reach directly from the hotel. we stayed just for one night, but really enjoyed the hotel. view for the night Bangkok from our room on 27th floor, spectacular pool and nice food - I enjoyed the most. also the hotel is quite new and well equiped. The situation of the hotel is excellent (BTS Skytrain access from the hotel) Saphan Taksin boat station nearby. We stayed 10 days . It was like a home from home. Staff very friendly and helpful, free internet access! Will stay there again in the future!. Skybridge connected to Surasak BTS, clean and comfortable rooms, excellent staff and delicious food. The staffs always carried a smile on their faces to serve. The facilities provided are very detailed. WARM towels are provided at sky pool. The main shopping area, Siam, is five stops away on the same BTS line. The room is spacious and comfortable. Breakfast is average to above average, the best thing is that it doesn't end till 11am. Service is fine. we had a room on the 25th floor and had a nice view of the city - the bed was really comfortable and big!!! the pool area was amazing and a good place to chill out - having the link to the stations made travelling super easy and even though the hotel isnt in the city it felt to close as we didnt have far to travel - breakfast was great wide varitey of foods. The location is very convenient. Easy access to every where by the BTS. Especially it's only one stop of BTS to the river. It's quite convenient for visiting the Grand Palace by taking the boat. Elegant hotel and well located with it's own foot bridge to the sky train station. One stop away is the pier where you can catch a ferry. The location is perfect and the hotel is great. We had our room on the 28st floor and the view from the bathroom was great. The swimming pool is fabulous and as well as the breakfast. You can even take the train directly from the 3rd floor which is so easy. I really recoomend this hotel and the italian restaurant is very good as well. Nothing at this price point. The crowded pool at the 14th floor. The lifts are a bit too slow, I guess there are just not enough for the amount of people. But that really is a very minor issue. Most of the staff was nice, polite and helpfull, but some of them where little serviceminded and seemed irritated. Pool could have opened until 10pm I reckon especially if you have been out all day and get back late looking for that unwind. There are a *lot* of people staying here, many young families with little kids - breakfast can be overwhelming - not enough seats. The pool can get crowded at peak times, but was generally ok. The lifts are terrible - somehow 4 lifts is not enough for the number of guests staying here over cny. Always waiting for lifts, and sometimes just took the stairs to avoid this. Absolutely nothing. There was nothing we did not like. No separate Executive guest lift & lifts were very busy. Leaving :(. Some slight details of the room should have been fixed but I really am referring to minor issues i noticed just cause I'm a good observer..really minor issues not to bother. There isn't much to do and see around the hotel within walking a distance. The italian restaurant could provide some more vegetarian dishes. Bangkok is not very friendly to pedestrians (walking). Congestion, traffic, crowded sideswalks, not well maintained sidewalks. Smells. Dirty state of the river. Deteriorated state of the docks along the river. In room brochures advertised hours for restaurants in hotels, but they were not accurate. We went to bed with no dinner one night because food service closed earlier than the stated hours and we could not get served. The poolside was not really a place to relax round as seating as at a premium. The Italian restaurant wouldn't let my 12 year old son in as he was wearing tailored shorts. I understand that rule for adults but seems excessive for kids. Tv channels selection was poor. While tv was a proper hd 40''+ panel the content was not in hd - looked poor on such big tv. I don't think you will be disappointed if you book this hotel. nothing. - mainly the slowness of the lifts. there was some problem with an air condition in our room. the stuff quickly fixed everithing. also the shower drain was a bit noisy. these are so minor, just to mention all details. There are no shops (apart from a small Family Mart) or local restaurants (except The Blue Elephant which is quite expensive, and Ban Chiang which we can highly recommend) in the immediate area. Luckily it is only a short walk to the area around the Hindu temple, where there are plenty of restaurants and massage places. Room prices are very good for two people but a bit steep for single occupancy. Swimming pool is rather small for hotel capacity and is more suitable to quick plunge than for relaxing swimming after intense day, it's been very crowded everyday at sunset and on most days all places by the pool were occupied. During our stay over Easter week (7 days) hotel was busy every day, and sometimes we had to be patient to get table for breakfast or to get elevator, however it's not a problem when you are on holiday. The staff sometimes are not very easy to communicate with. If you want to eat outside of the hotel (and most people do) the area is sadly6 lacking in food establishments within any reasonable walking distance and the area is very dark and uninviting at night. The hotel lack a bar with any real atmosphere and perhaps one at rooftop might persuade a few more to stay rather than choose other equivalent hotels that do feature a high level or roof top bar. internet connection is somewhat sluggish and limited to 2 devices per room, which is the the downside but everything else is flawless. Not being able to adjust the aircon in the room as it was rather warm. Had to call the guest service who had the maintanance adjust it to just 27 celcius and before that it was 29. There should be two bath mats, one for the shower and the other for the below the sink. Nothing in particular, except there's nothing interesting in the vicinity. The Blue Elephant Cooking School is next door. The pool area is a bit small. Almost nothing. There isn't much in the local area but this didn't matter so much as it was right next to a station so it was very easy to get to places. There are only four lifts, so could be busy at peak hours. The pool closed at 8pm. The bell boy told the taxi driver sending us to BKK rather than DMK, where we were going, without even asking us. Bar offered good range of drinks and cocktails but frankly overpriced by Thai standards. Nothing to report. Nothing of consequence. Honestly, nothing.
