Everything from start to finish was amazing! We arrived at the hotel and was greeted by a very friendly male manager, who instantly upgraded us to a honeymoon suite with the river view. The rooms where very clean and spacious with all modern decor, and the comfiest bed ive ever slept in, the food was great too. You get a choice of a la carte, or a buffet, both of which had plenty to offer. Really really happy with our stay here, just wished we'd booked longer! Will 100% be returning in the near.
all reviews » An excellent hotel. Couldn't be faulted. The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for you. We were upgraded to a suite on 32nd floor with excellent views, although the open balcony wouldn't be to everyone's taste. The restaurant was excellent value, and breakfast had every type of food you could possibly want. Peaceful riverside location, and easy to access city from dedicated boat, although a taxi is excellent value as well (Less than £2 to main train station). Lovely rooftop pool w. It was our first trip to Bangkok and we weren't sure what to expect. What we found was a lovely, luxury hotel that was in an excellent location. There were three of us so we had a 2-bedroom suite with a kitchen and beautiful views of the river. The staff was friendly and could communicate fairly well in English. The pool was great! It was easy to catch the free boat to the catch the train or other boats to visit attractions. We highly recommend the Chatrium. The spacious and user friendly rooms were awesome and very comfortable, and the price was right for a budget conscious couple seeking quality and great views of the Chao Praya River. The food was great too, and it was easy to get to other parts of the city using the boats provided along with the river boats and the public transport. We also met Adrian, the General Manager, twice and his thoughts about the hotel and travelling were much appreciated. We enjoyed it all. A wonderful experience. The buffet breakfast was superb with a wide choice to suit all tastes. The alfresco area an added bonus. The Ferry shuttle was another bonus and made city access so much easier. We loved the quirky bathroom with the ventian blinds separating the shower glass and the bedroom. Raising the blinds to take a shower 27 floors up looking over the city and yet in absolute privacy was fun. River view room well worth the extra cost and had a useful kitchenette and sitting/dining area, which, combined with the on site 7/11 store, made it easy to have drinks and snacks in the room or on the balcony. Complimentary shuttle boat connects with the local transport system. Excellent breakfast buffet. Pool area lovely with views over the Chao Praya river. Friendly, polite and very helpful staff. - Great 2-br suite for a great price - Accomodated 5 adults very well (only needed this for one night). - Great location with a private boat to take you to the central dock and also close to the new Asiatique market. - Staff was tremendous. - Still wanting to become best friends with the owner of the properties and the international school next door so I can ride on the yacht that he parks there!!. We get a suite on the 29th floor, so the view was amazing. Even more because the room is totally glazing ... Very spacious and clean. Possibility to open a curtain between the room and the shower, that's quite cool if you are a couple. Would definitely stay there again. Chatrium was a wow for me and my son. We stayed in a deluxe room/suite facing the river. I loved the Chatrium free ferry taking you to the main pier to catch the skytrain to go where you want. Easy to get anywhere wih taxis- which is superb in Bangkok. Even the tuk-tuks was fun and effective. Lovely modern apartment , very spacious and with wonderful views over the river. Very handy having a 7/11 in the complex for picking food and snacks. Really useful having the convenience of a washing machine and tumble drier. Breakfast was included in the price and was plentiful and varied. The location was perfect - right on the river with free shuttle to Sathorn Pier where you could catch a ferry or a bts to all the sights. There was a nice, reasonably priced massage place at the end of the road and Asiatique was 15 minutes walk. The pool and poolside bar were also lovely. Friendly staff; always helpful! Because our room had some problems, we received an upgrade. Perfect room, clean, great view.... In one word: great! Also the free boat-service from the hotel was really useful :-). They nailed it!. The boat only runs every half hour during the main part of the morning, whereas it is every quarter of an hour in early morning and all afternoon and evening. The hotel food prices are fairly high. And be warned, the river is polluted (nothing to do with the Chatrium, of course). Nothing at all. We loved all aspects of this very special hotel. Evening buffet disappointing compared with the breakfast one, but the a la carte menu is extensive and better value for money. Position is slightly out of the centre but the shuttle boats helps to compensate for that. Sometime have to wait a few minutes when you order a taxi but it's unfortunately due to Bangkok traffic jam I guess ! no drama ! :). Mosquito's, even on 34th floor! In three weeks in Thailand, was only bitten whilst at the hotel, so take precautions if you are affected. We loved it all!. There was nothing to dislike. We expect that there would be more kitchen utensils and a washing machine in the suite but there is not. Hot water was not hot enough after 2am (no problem before that), one bottle of the soda water available in the fridge was expired. The hotel agreed for our late check out at 1pm but the key cards were disabled at noon. Due to the popularity morning breakfasts could be crowded but not a major issue. It's a little far away from the center, however, if you want to travel along the river to see the scenic spots, it's the best choice to stay here. Great value. Thought we would have a washing machine in the room and laundry was very expensive..110 baht (£2.50) for a pair of undergarments. The only thing I did not like was the boat tour that we were offered through their concierge. We were quoted a pretty outrageous price, but we did not realize it until afterwards due to it being our first day in Bangkok. Fun tour though!. Nothing really, as was a relaxing and trouble-free stopover. Nothing was to my dislike. No tea towel to dry dishes in the kitchen. Seemed to be a fair distance from the centre and taxi drivers had difficulty finding it. The Chinese restaurant on the top floor was a bit disappointing - not a romantic venue more a place to go with many friends. Also room service was very slow on the night we ordered some ice cream. Overall though this these were small issues and I would recommend Chatrium Riverside Hotel. Food in hotel is a bit pricey but worth it not to get ill!. My rooms location being on the end had a part river part vacant section view and although it did qualify as a river view was a little dissapointing also it was noisy due to house keeping servive room next to it.The room itself was fine. Only setback is the walk after disembarking from the shuttle boat...on a hot day, it could be a bit much for mature guests like us. However, other option is to take a tuktuk from hotel to the bts station instead of the shuttle boat!. Too hot and humid. Not being allowed to cover shoulders and arms with shawls and scarves when visiting the Grand Palace and Temples. (We had to queue for ages in the heat for tee shirts and gave up in the end so missed out on this historical experience. Pool water too warm to be refreshing. Nothing!. Cannot think of anything I did not like. Distance from MBK -But once you remembered pier name and train station ,the shuttle became a cheap alternative for transport especially over peak hour- which seems to start at 3-4pm onward . nothing. Can't fault it. We liked everything. Dont think theres anything. Having to leave :). Nothing. I didn't have more time there :0(. Nothing, very happy here. Nothing. nothing. Nothing. The toilet is equipped with only bidet, No Shataf (hand spray) was available. Long que for the elevator especially in the morning. Pool was a bit small.
