It was perfect for traveling with a young baby as we needed the space for the cot and all our luggages. I also adore the fact that after the baby goes to bed we can just close up the sliding door and enjoy watching tv in the living room. Having stayed at numerous hotel each time we go Taiwan, I would say there is no need to look further than Corner house as our preferred choice of accommodation. The staff are all very helpful , friendly and displayed initiative which you would not see in big na.
all reviews » We stayed in a superior room. The bed was really comfy with 4 pillow - 2 harder, 2 smooshier. There was a Japanese style toilet. The mini fridge with complementary water bottles was a nice feature as was the hot water kettle with the indecipherable buttons. There was a good sized balcony and a safe which we did not use. Breakfast had a surprisingly decent and wide variety of selections. The neighbourhood was pretty quiet, but had some stuff going on. It is a small hotel with a homely feel. The room is spacious and well-maintained. The location is great, especially near Daan Park which I visited every morning for my jogs. The Daan Park MRT station, which is near the hotel, started operating half-way through my stays and this added to the convenience. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful which make our stay a pleasant experience. It's a wonderful place to stay, clean, well-maintained and welcoming. The breakfast buffet was varied and well-presented. The staff were all very pleasant and non-obtrusive. There is a washer and drier available for the guests. A good supermarket and the Metro are now only five minutes away. It's in a residential area, away from most of the traffic. it's a good experience to stay in the Corner House, because 1) it's quite close to metro station(捷运东门站), 10-15 min walk i think. also near 永康街. 2) it's new and well decorated, so it provides a comfort environment. 3) the service is good so you feel at home 4) breakfast is great! 5) their GYM room is great too, but we didn't spend much time there...:(. A modern hotel in the middle of a traditional community, the corner house was an excellent homebase for city folks coming to experience the oriental town. The hotel was a 10 minute walk away from "yong an" area, with plenty of lovely restaurants and shops that had plenty of local customers. Very comfortable. As a rental apartment, really feel like at home. Breakfast are so great, many varieties. Location quite close to Yongkang street, and not far from subway. Overall, highly recommended. I would definitely come back next time if I stay longer in Taipei. Relative new hotel, friendly, "easy going", small and quiet. The breakfast was limited but they changed courses every day. The location is good and will improve when the new nearby Metro station will be finished. I like the clean and spacious rooms. The design of the rooms were modern and probably due to the location, it was peaceful and homely. Cama Coffee just outside has extremely good self roasted coffee!. We really enjoyed their breakfast. The breakfast was a let down by taiwan standard. Nothing. You could hear the cleaner staff talk outside the door in the morning. We had to walk about 10-15 minutes to Dongmen Station. So if it rains, we are usually quite stuck at the hotel. There is basic kitchen facility in the room but no cutleries. We stayed on the 7th floor and room was a little humid. Toilet flush was weak, 10-15 mins partially unsheltered walk to the nearest train station. a bit far away from the MRT, need to take around 10 mins walk but it's OK for us!. Breakfast was weak and a lot of processed foods. Bathroom was nice, but a bit tight. Nothing. A bit overprice, 8 minutes walk to nearest MRT station (it would be better in near future as there is a new MRT station right in front), no at the center of Taipei. ...yet a little bit far away from metro station. nothing. takes 10mins to walk from closest subway but very quiet and safe neigborhood. They failed at cleaning up the room. The bed is too small for couple with one kid. Very stingy service. For 2 people, we could only get 2 bath towels (I normally need 2 myself). When we requested 2 more, we were asked if Housekeeping did not refresh our towels! They said if they did, they will need to charge us for extra towels. Ridiculous. We also asked for an extra blanket, again, they said we could have it for free this time, but need to pay if we ask again. Very stingy. If breakfast time can be extended a bit longer, say till 10:30am, it will be great for travellers and family. the location is bad. Breakfast variety is limited.
