The staff were very accommodating! They informed us upon arrival that because we had a child, we should have reserved a private room. Since there private rooms were full, they allowed us to stay in a 4 person room without roommates. They were very kind and helpful. The internet works in the lounge area, which is full of fun games and plenty of comfortable seating. They have a bar/restaurant in the lounge as well. The facilities are very clean and well kept. all reviews » Every bed in 4-bed shared room had a charging point with reading light. Breakfast buffee was good: cereals, müsli, fruit salad, yoghurt, milk, orange juice, different breads, ham, cervelat, three different kinds of cheese, butter, jam, honey, chocolate spread, tea, coffee and cacao powder :). Staff were very friendly and spoke English well enough to explain everything. One of the staff was very friendly to explain patiently good places to have Indian food, place to shop for some things we wanted etc. He went extra mile, googled and helped on places to shop for cuckoo clocks. The beds were very comfortable, and the facilities were very clean. I enjoyed the selection of swiss beers and wine, and the food was actually quite tasty as well. Everything we needed was right here (wi-fi, laundry, gift shop) and all the staff members were exceptionally helpful. Our group is 6 people. Room is comfortable and very clean. Staff are friendly. There is a lift so we need not to carry our luggage to 3rd or 4th floor. There is also wash basin in our room. So it helped us to save time a lot especially in the morning when we are rush to go out. Its time all places recognize the importance of WiFi as a basic amenity than a luxury. i know hostels don't provide towels and soaps, but would be good if they do as wet towels are difficult to handle during travel. Location is a bit far form Zurich HB. Need about 16 minutes by tram and walk another 10 minutes to the hostel. Wifi was only in lobby. Was situated a bit further out of the city centre than I would've preferred - about 20 minutes on the tram + walking. Were a bit fussy making me pay for 2 pieces of paper I printed out. Location is only modestly out of the way, but if you don't mind the beautiful 1 hour walking there from city-center (which I happily did twice in 0*C temperature), then it's ok. Alternatively it is very close to the 7-line S-Bahn which you can take from the city center. My point here is that the youth hostel is simply not near the city center. But it is a wonderful Jugendherberge!. Well the breakfast isn't what we Russian people are used to: sandwiches and cornflakes are not so satisfying at all. Missed porridge, pancakes, oatmeal. The WiFi works only in the lobby area. It's location is far from the city center & a bit hard to reach by public transportation, i.e. you have to walk up a steep hill. The price is very high for shared accommodation and the room is very tiny, but that's Zurich!! They charge 6 Fr extra per night if you are not a member of some youth hostel association ( I don't recall the name exactly ). 1. They charged extra 6 CHF/night in addition to the price on letsbookhotel.com because I was not a member of Hostels Int'l 2. The Front Office Manager was not helpful in giving instructions of sight seeing in the city. WiFi within the rooms was not available and it was very hard to find the location (especially who never came before in Zurich and does not speak french). Minus one: expensive. But it's to the whole of Switzerland applies. A little expensive, anyhow, it is Zurich. - no wifi in room. A bit far from the city center. There is no transportation after midnight except for the weekends. A little bit far from the city center. A bus or tram ride from the city, not a great problem, just further than I expected. Away from the city - needed to take public transport and walk to get there. No self-catering kitchen Expensive (but still cheapest option in Zurich). nothing bad. the shower needs to be pushed to turn on about every half minute... No guest fridge available. It was not too clase of the downton but you can take a bus. The guest next door is very noisy, and the location of hostel is a little bit far from train station if you carry a quite large luggage. it is a little far away from the train station. Our only small complaint would be the cost (for travellers from rthe UK). too expensive putting both genders together. Expensive, but this is the cheapest place to stay in you could find in very expensive Zurich and Switzerland at all. Breakfast is not variety but it's O.K. for quality. Too far away from the city center; extra fee for non-member of youth hostel leagues and it was not added in the booking fee. Slightly expensive. small internet scope. It was a little expensive. Location ( Good neighborhood , just not in the vitu center) But a 20 minute tram journey Will take you to vitu center. It 'a umderstandable such a hostel not be in the city center of Zurich which costs a lot. In the brakfast Egg omlete/ boiled eggs could have been in addition to the existing items given.
