A great hotel with a swimming pool in a very green and beautiful location. Smashing staff, all very friendly. Exceptional manager - very chatty and approachable. We were even offered a free room upgrade many times. We refused as we were very happy with a room on the ground floor directly facing the pool. Excellent massage! The place is in a quiet road less than 5 minutes to the stunning beach.
all reviews » We stayed in two deluxe rooms, both if which were clean and well equipped. Breakfast was great and when we ate in the hotel the food was delicious and enough to feed an army!! The setting was idyllic, quiet but close to the beach, a small pool ideal for cooling off. Plentiful wildlife around the hotel including iguanas and monkeys All in all thoroughly recommended. Staff were superb, particularly the younger staff who I understand many are trainees but who were very helpful and friendly. The hotel itself is compact and comfortable and well located for visits to the sea. Location near awesome swimming beach, friendly staff who were accommodating, breakfast, location of room in rainforest where we saw rare monkeys and lizards, peace and quiet, close to Galle. Very friendly and helpful staff. Wonderful setting in lush garden, good sized well equipped and clean rooms. Very good breakfast and dinner. Nice and clean little pool. Not a problem for us in the least (in fact a but if a bonus) but there are some very steep steps to some of the rooms which disabled visitors might find tricky. The food preparation was average with better value on the sea-front. It would help to cover the ventilation opening in the bathroom with mosquito net. Sometimes towels was removed without replacing them, and sometimes we had to ask for soap or toilet paper. a lot of insects hanging around Pool too small for proper swimming, so more appropriate for a refreshing dunk : ). Nothing. all was great. We wished we had booked for longer. Beware of steps!. lots of insects. Same soundtracks in common areas, some times they ran out of towels in pool area. (These are small, small issues), same menu at hotel restaurant for breakfast/dinner/lunch... There were only 3 channels on TV. BBC/Spot/movie. Should have more channels. Nothing. Beware room above kitchen can be noisy early on and has a yoga class outside your room at 8am. Not the closest hotel to the beach. First room given had moldy bathroom and leaking toilet. Our room was convenient to the facilities - but we couldn't open the windows as it was in a very public location on the ground floor. We couldn't get proper blankets. The room chairs were poor. The staff was very attentive in general but sometimes too much. They were too pushy about eating the dinner at the hotel's restaurant and we literally had to sneak out each time we wanted to go out in the evening. The swimming pool is so small. Doesn't like to offer free accommodation to the driver. Want to give you very low currency exchange rate when you check out. The lock didn't work in the room. We felt a bit unsafe. The bathrooms are extremely run down. I was there for a night only (thankfully) and just couldnt get myself to shower. It is located in the extreme interiors. The location was not so good as you have to like 800m - 1km inside from the main road. The staff is really very slow.Our room was just above the kitchen so there was lot of noise in the morning and there were lot of insects also in the room, i found a spider web on our bed which was removed by the staff. I was told I had 3 luxury rooms .1 was poor so we moved to another hotel. Pool hours are pathetic.driveway hopeless.
