The view: Situated on a hill top almost and offers gorgeous views of the city, mountains & greenery. Centrally located and very close to the Tooth Relic Temple. The Spa, designed like cave rooms, just fantastic. Morever every guest was given a complimentary 10minute foot or head massage. Super friendly staff . Clean rooms , great service and amazing value for money . The views are fantastic and the food was good . Special thanks to Marcus who was went above and beyond to make sure we had a memorable stay . Would definitely go back there .
all reviews » Spacious room with view over Kandy lake. Good design/furniture in room, double water tap in the restroom, avoiding a lot of issue in the morning. Great restaurants nearby (Chinese Bamboo). The staff extremely friendly, and always willing to help. The room's big enough for a couple. Location's also good, only 10 mins walk from the cemetry and 20 mins from the tooth temple. The room was very spacious which was overlooking the Kandy lake on one side and the forest on the other side. Kids enjoyed watching monkeys in the sitout. The breakfast was good. The pool and the view from our room to the lake was excellent. The pool bar is a great place to just hang out and relax during Kandy's rainy days. Hotel was great. Best breakfast I ever had in Sri Lanka. Very big rooms and friendly personnel. Walking distance to the city center. Good location, nice view friendly staff. We ordered 3 different dishes, a sri lankan rice and curry, a chicken burger and spaghetti bolognese - BAD. No internet in room. The tv is old model and was not working properly. The restaurant band, who played for people at their tables. Very irritating, and we dined in fear that they would eventually approach us. When they did, we asked them not to play. They didn't look to happy about it, but that sort of thing is not for everyone. Wi-Fi had very weak signal everybody was sitting almost on the reception desk to have strong signal :-). The buffet in the evening and breakfast, not the best. No water pressure for shower and tv didnt work. Too many unfriendly monkeys. The room is modern and nice, but I personally more prefer ethnic design. Everything was good. No wifi access in room. buffet restaurant. Monkeys. There were problem because for the shower was NO warm water. Old and a little dated, including the rooms (clean around hotel). Breakfast chioce was okay, but evening buffet limited, especally for young children. First there food isn't good. You have to go to earls regency hotel 3km from thilanka hotel for a very nice open buffet, with the same price. They don't accept u'r visa to pay in U.s dollars. As all sri lanka places the exchange rate is very low ,so try to convert u'r money before reaching sri lanka. Many rooms doesn't have a good view , so you should ask for them. Monkeys may steel u'r stuff ,u have to close u'r balcony before u do any move. No WiFi, Only on the pool area. Tv is slightly bigger than iPad. Stupid blankets were provides that reflects cheap quality. Hot water problems, it takes forever to get hot water, if you are lucky to get it. Water leakage in the bathroom. The hotel require renevation but still acceptable to stay in. Difficult to reach as the road is narrow and not known by all taxi but at the end you will reach the hotel. Presence of monkeys in the room balakony a bit noisy sometimes. We booked a Deluxe Double room but the hotel insisted we booked a triple room. When we showed them the letsbookhotel.com confirmation they moved us to a double room. There was no hot water and when we asked about it the hotel staff said we need to run the shower for a minimum of 10 minutes before the hot water comes through. After 15 mins of running the shower (an awful waste of water) the water was lukewarm. Only wifi at the reception area and the rooms are quiet old.(but comfortable). The Breakfast was not very good. The entrance, the reception, waiting room المدخل والاستقبال وغرفة الانتظار سيئه. Pictures on the website seem to be from another hotel. Bathroom floor was wet when we arrived and it was still wet when we left. Never dried, one corner water was stuck. Food was bad. No hot water. Bad service. Waiters had dirty uniforms. Cook came out of kitchen... uniform was very dirty. Don't drink the expensive espresso there, it is horrible. Breakfast was too monotonous.and the room was not very clean.Especially the gull drain was always blocked. The door of the balcony can't be opened if you are in the garret floor. food is not diversified. Buffet is comparatively expensive. The hotel badly needs some money spending on it. It is poor and I would not return.
