The position was fabulous. Right on the beach and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We asked for Ananda to get us fish and sea food and we had two amazing meals of jumbo prawns crab and para fish . He organised cabs for us to Galle and the airport and kindly took us to The Foundation of Goodness post tsunami orphanage where our son was playing cricket . Would love to return one day.
all reviews » The owner and staff are very friendly, honest and helpful. The hotel is simple but with a lot of charm and atmosphere right at a beautiful beach not spoiled by tourism yet. I can highly recommend it for people who don't need high standards but prefer a unique and authentic place. Staff were very attentive to our needs. Very kind and friendly towards guests and always wanting to ensure that our stay was comfortable. Food was great as well and location was fantastic!! I would highly recommend to future travellers. The location is one of the best in the island. Hotel staff are nice(it is basic in this profession i suppose) and kind. The owner is so helpful and a great cook(calamari is a must try). The hotels lounge and the view are so beautiful. Close to the beach, staff was really friendly! The owner of the hotel was really nice, we even had a chance to try how he cook. Manager Alunnda kindly gave us a lift to our next hotel in Bentota. Hikkaduwa a really nice place and could have spent more ti me there, rather than bentota, which is a bit naff Do visit the tsunami museum. The staff however are friendly, the communication is not so easy as they dont understand or speak english enough. Mind the stray dogs in the beach, they are not too friendly(I was bitten on the beach as we walked in our first evening by a stray dog. Really badly.) They are not vaccinated, so Rabies is common in the dog population in this country. The airport pick up service is not free. It is a very quiet location. Great for relaxing on the beach. But if you're looking for more to do, it might not be the place for you. Also the bathroom was smelly, which made it difficult for me to sleep. But I found that to be a common problem in Sri Lanka. We liked everything. owner was not too friendly and location a little far from the main attractions. Coffee for breakfast it was to weak. surf rough. Nothing: ). Probably a bit too far out of Hikkaduwa, but tuktuks are of course everywhere so not really a problem.
