The location is great! In the middle of the old center, in walking distance to many restaurants, tapas bars, sights, shopping street, etc. The price-quality ratio of the hotel is very good. Our room was about 46 euro per night, for a small room with double bed, hot shower, small balcony; no breakfast though. It is a family run place, and you can feel it is not a chain hotel or business hotel. Warm atmosphere, good information available at reception. all reviews »
The hostel is very basic but practical and ideal for those on a budget.
Centrally located, it is an ideal base when exploring the city and the
surrounding areas. I opted for my own bathroom which was well worth the
additional 4 euros per day. I'm often concerned about security in
Hostels but this was diminished in El Cid completely - I felt
comfortable leaving my belongings in my room when out and about.
Very nice place to stay. Very friendly personnel that is ready to help.
The place is pure valencian small street, but one-step-to all central
places to visit and walk. The cat is perfect (not kiddin`!).
Really good reception, we arrived at night but still we could check in
easily. Staff was friendly and always willing to help & answer
questions. Very clean.

The location was great - right next to Plaza de la Reina, felt very safe with lots of people around. Lots of hot water and rooms cleaned every day.

The rooms differ in size and style, so ask to see another one if they have availability. This is how we got a much nicer room with small balcony, instead of a dark one with only a small window. There were a lot of mosquitos when we visited late June, so bring repellent to spray your room at night. Not all rooms have aircon, but we were happy enough with our fan room. The shower was quite small and had a curtain (don't really like that...) but the bathroom was very clean and modern.
Steep steps to rooms (I was on the 2nd floor but there were two further
floors - along way to go if you are in and out regularly throughout the
day). That said, it wouldnt really deter me and shouldnt younger
travellers!.
Nothing 2 say here, but fix the air conditioning to warm the room in
February ))))).
