The bungalows were spacious, clean and in a quiet setting a few hundred metres back from the main promenade of Puerto del Carmen. Self catering kitchenette was adequately equipped. I think we were a little spoilt with an upstairs unit giving us a sea view and a private patio, on which to sunbathe, looking out over bougainvillea trees.I Think the downstairs units may not have been as spacious. Excellent place and would return without hesitation. (217 euro/6 nights early May).

The Hyde Park Lane is spotlessly clean, and is kept that way. The cleaners were in every day and we received clean towels daily and fresh bed sheets at least twice during our week stay. The half-board is great value and location is perfect if you want a relaxing holiday. I liked the bungalow although basic and a wee bit jaded. The idea is excellent but, could do with a makeover. Our bungalow No 69 was in a good location and had only one storey. My friend was in a 2 storey and did not like someone overhead. Very quiet and relaxed place. Clean freindly and great value. Not for the fun seeker , just a nice place to be and very low key but fabulous for that . Been back many times we've lost count. Go at least twice a year. We liked the cleanliness of the complex, plus the fact it had two pools, the bungalows were well set out. Taxis were very cheap and always available, never seen a beggar once. I liked that the place was so clean. I also liked the pool area & the free wi-fi in the bar area. Staying in a bungalow is new for us & very enjoyable. Bungalows were very well equiped with cooking and associated utensils. eg kettle, toaster, scissors even a filter coffee maker. Nothing. No negative comments. We are repeat customers having stayed at Hyde Park Lane twice before. We had requested an upstairs apartment however we were given an apartment that didn't get any sunlight. We thought that as repeat customers our request would have been looked upon favourably, and were disappointed that this did not happen. The towels need changing every day. The food in the buffet was terrible. It was "tepid" with cold potatoes and cold chips. The water was only barely hot enough for tea even. It needs a major overhaul. The snack bar was better. Bungalows are quite basically furnished , bed very firm and uk tv channels are very limited .....but we know that from many years of visits and that is outweighed by its tranquility and value. The food was not of good standard, some parts of the food was very poor, the supermarket was down a lot of steps, and there was only a fan in one room. The beds could be a bit softer, got mattress covers but could be better. I thought the safe could be placed in a better place than down the bottom of the wardrobe as i had to get down on my knees each time I needed something from it. This could put me off recommending it to older relatives. Mattress on bed not comfortable Supermarket on location poorly stocked Distance away from good supermarket no instructions fro microwave. Bed was not comfortable. mattress was hard. And head board of the bed was broken in the room where i was. single beds were comfortable but had loose and noisy headboards. There wast anything we didn't like. The beds. mosquito bites. Everything was okay. What was wrong it was fixed in 1 day. Nothing,honest. the beds very hard and head boards not connected to bed making it noisey would like to have had option for double bed or at least easy to put twin together. restaurant - poor quality of food. TV Channels disappointing not even SKY News available. I did ask at Reception but was told it was not available which I find hard to believe. Beds a bit hard. described as a bungalow - we were in a top floor apartment stated a sofa bed - it was a camp bed. No toiletries in bathroom. Not all apartments have air conditioning. Beds too hard. The food in the restaurant. Was really disappointed as my husband is disabled and requested a bungalow nearest to the pool. There was huge wall in front of our bungalow and my husband could not make the pool. If we had been given a nearer one all would have been better. Around twenty apartments were robbed in one night. The staff seemed to see it as the norm and did nothing. Do not leave clothes drying or anthing outside. beds , kitchen cooking factilies,television channels.furniture dated ,more electrical sockets ,mirror in bedroom , old sunbeds. Everything.
