First of all, the location of the hostel is great, being located in the heart of Madrid, a few minutes away from Gran Via and all the cultural places. Also it is really easy to arrive from the airport. Second of all, the ratio quality-price was great taking into the consideration that my room was quite modern and I enjoyed the shower with hidromassage. The room was very clean and quiet. The staff are super welcoming and friendly, always ready to help and advise on where to go and what to do. The hostal is also kept very clean and the cleaning staff are very friendly and helpful as well. Although the rooms do not have safe deposit boxes, security and leaving passports/money behind was never a cause for concern. This is a place I would recommend and stay at again!. The staff was so nice! They helped us when our shower was only working out of one of the shower heads, helped us find fun places to go, and spoke wonderful English. They stored our things when we got there too early to check in. Very easy to find, especially if you google map it. Felt very safe behind those big wooden doors. Very close to the royal palace and opera, a little bit of a walk to the Prado, but one that goes through all the major areas!. One night we had a room towards the street, and a rowdy night club is right outside it! Although the shutters and curtains helped, there is just no sleeping through Spanish people partying until 7:30 am! Our room the second night was extremely quiet because it was on the other side. Request a room not towards the street, or bring earplugs!. Nothing. The noise might be a bit problem but it does not matter for me at all. Bathroom door would not shut and bathroom needed thorough cleansing. Mattresses were not comfortable. A bit difficult to find the hotel at the first arrival. Taxi didn't know where the hotel is. Maybe a detailed map of the hotel posted on the website would help. There were college students (I am assuming) outside our window signing all night long - interesting but not good when you're tired. Out of control of the hotel though. The room is very small (budget room) and in fact it was difficult to find room to open 2 suitcases at the same time in this very tight room. The bed was satisfactory but not great. I would recommend the hotel but only with warnings about the size of the room and recommendation to choose a more expensive room in the hotel. There is not even a simple breakfast included (I am just asking about just orange juice with some cookies and it would be enough). I booked a triple bed room for three adults, and the third bed was smaller and less quality; but I took it and it did not bother me at all. nothing negative. just dark, it is hard to find the place by first time. However it is very close to several subway station. Needs a bigger sign ...can be hard to locate. If you request a late check-out you have to pay a fee. After spending a few weeks travelling in Spain, this was the only hotel that asked me to pay a fee of this type. I wasn't impressed with that, but as the staff were so friendly it didn't bother me as much as it would normally have. You can hear the T.V of the next room. Nothing. Hotel would require a larger signage from the outside. It's just way too easy to miss that lil' small sign!. Noise from waterpipes can be very disturbing. Would have preferred 2 bathrooms in apt. for 6 people but this was only slight inconvenience -- no real negatives. My room was a bit dark. No fridge in the room but with the price it's too much to ask. Nothing. Santo Domingo square is a popular hang out for all night partiers and skateboarders so it's quite loud. Front desk controls the A/C so room was rather warm. The noise from outside at night. N/A. paredes muy finas, escuchas conversaciones......una lastima. Had an issue with the AC but they very quick to help and fix it. room size (small). Took a while to find. It's impossible to sleep in this hotel, because you can hear everything, what happened in the corridor, reception and rooms next to you. That's terrible, I was always tired. Hostal is in centre; front rooms face busy square and street. Be prepared for noise!.
