from the time we got there they made us feel like home, everybody was extremely nice and polite with us. I was traveling with my mom and we felt like we were with family form the lobby until the kitchen everyone is so helpful, the locations is great you go to the terrace and you have the Royal Palace right on from of you. we were like 5 minutes walking to the public transportation. I will recommend it to all of my friends. jus make sure if you want to be used the terrace at night make reservati.
all reviews » The Hotel was bright and vibrant and the staff were always friendly and helpful. The room itself was a good size and was comfortable with plenty of storage space. The Shower had plenty of hot water and good pressure. Breakfast was not quite a full English but good by European standards. Location was super for direct transfers from the airport on the C1 train (2.50€) then less than 5 minutes walk. Location also excellent for Old City and you can catch a train direct to Atocha station (1.60€), . The hotel has a fabulous staff, especially Pedro, who greeted me in fluent American English. The rooms are fabulous, very well appointed, very comfortable and roomy. The hotel has a great location, within easy walking distance of the Plaza Mayor and many other sights. And it was tremendous value for the money. The staff were very friendly, the design was modern, clean and comfortable. We had an excellent breakfast to start the day and the room facilities gave us the option of staying in if needed in the evening ( but the location was so handy we ate out every night anyway!). Superb location opposite the Royal Palace with great roof garden. Excellent value! We were on 6th floor and our room was lovely and quiet. Lots of space with cooking facilities if you wanted them (we didn't use - except for kettle). Beds were comfortable. Rooms quiet. Kitchenettes fairly well stocked. Staff very nice. They allowed us to check in early without prior arrangement. Few blocks to Metro. Close to shopping center with stores and restaurants. Staff was wonderful. Very courteous and professional at every moment. Facilities extremely clean. Location could not be better. Décor modern and very pleasant. Breakfast very well served with lots of choices. The location is good and we were able to walk to all we wanted to see. I imagine the roof top garden is terrific....but although the weather was still great in early October, the garden/bar wasn't open. The staff were accommodating. Accessible by walking to Plaza Real & Gran Via. Room was clean. Bathroom was comfortable enough for 2 adults with 1 child. Electricity cut in our room 3 times on first night, ok after that, and staff quick to respond. What's not to like? It was great. Very minor issue with being turned away from roof top terrace because we had no booking, although we only wanted a cocktail before heading out to eat elsewhere. Access to the terrace outside of service hours was great, though. Nothing - but the hotel is between two metro stations so bit of hike with suitcases and Plaza D'Espanya has many different exits! When you leave go to Principe Pio - downhill!. They charged 20 Euros to wash and dry 1 load in their laundry machines!!!!! That's like 27 us dollars, which is 8 or 9 times what you'd pay to do a load of laundry in the us. I realize that energy is expensive in Europe, but $27 for a load of laundry is crazy. Not easily found if you are new to Madrid. 5-10 mins of walk to famous Gran Via. Disabled unfriendly--There's only a narrow slop at entrance for hauling your luggage, not even wide enough for your 28" bag if you don't pay close look at your wheels. Not slope from the lobby to the elevator, so you have to lift your luggage and walk for about 5 staircases. Good time to work out. :). Stairs up to elevator - difficult with suitcase. No electric coffee maker in room. No chairs on balcony. 11 Euro breakfast was not a deal IMO. Do any of the refrigerators in Spain ever get cold?. There was a little noise one morning due to work being carried out. Scheduled water maintenance took place but might have been good to have been warned the night before. there are A few steps when you first come into the entrance. street front kinda dirty and run down. no fault of there own. .. would have been faboulous with a balcony :-). nothing really. Nothing. Area in which its located is a bit shabby, but close to central facilities. Roof garden closed for repairs. nothing. food at roof top garden. The rooftop restaurant / bar doesn't open until 8 p.m. That they couldn't guarantee a terrace room. noise from guests walking in heels on tiled floor above. Internet signal poor. None. I wish letsbookhotel.com would have warned us that the terrace was under construction at the time we stayed. Bit tricky to see the name of the hotel when driving as road is very busy. The floor of our room was not clean on arrival, but was cleaned as soon as we complained. The 10 euro deposit for the key to the kitchen is rather silly - there is hardly anything in there worth 10 euro and inferring we were not to be trusted with the small amount of stuff in there is not a good start. 20 euros for using the washing facilities is absurd. Since it's a budget friendly apartment type of hotel, don't expect huge elevators.you have to carry your luggage up a flight of stairs. There was a water treatment during the time we were there so water heater was not consistent.
