Great location, right in the middle of everything a tourist might need!!! Very nice and helpful staff. A great bar next door. A perfect choice if you want to see the city. The location. Our corner room was huge with a balcony on two sides. Excellent value for money!. Close to La Rambla but not too noisy. The hotel was centrally situated and the hotel rooms were clean and very comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful. Had read reviews about homeless people hanging about outside and was a little concerned about this. On arrival I noticed that they were sitting around the square but caused no annoyance to our party.

Only the horrible reconstituted, and rather weak, orange juice at breakfast which we would not expect in Spain.They did not have any information about the hotel services or how to connect to the front desk. In addition, the hotel did not have an iron/ironing board available!!! This was unbelieveable to me. The front desk clerk told me they were not set up to cater to business clients. It was a little noisy at night.No variety in the breakfast :). Breakfast ist mediocre. The El Raval area is a bit grungy.The breakfast and the grumpy breakfast staff. brekafast was very early and no flex in time. There could have been more selection for breakfast, fruit etc. bland breakfast, no vegetables/ fruits which is a shame knowing that the market is 100m away, croisants were not fresh (prepacked). Breakfast was not so good ,if someone doesnt eat pork products ,choiceswere so limited.. immediate vicinity has many beggars. nothing. Our bedroom had a very small window that was jammed shut. The staff were apologetic about this and gave us a 10% discount - veyr fair.Practically no TV (13" without cable or an external antenna). no fresh fruit or juices at breakfast. Some peoples working to the office desk speak only spanish !. decor a bit tired (cigarette holes in quilt, dirty curtains etc), staff a bit unhelpful, and couldn't get wi-fi in room, only in reception area. Breakfast very basic, ours was included, if your's is, good, but don't pay for it. A bit noisy at night but not too bad given the closeness of Las Ramblas. the man behind the desk was abominably rude. although i am staying in barcelona unexpectedly for a few days, i will certainly not be returning to this hotel.Breakfast was poor - no fruit, hot food was hot dogs and scrambled eggs, poor choice of cereals. Staff were indifferent and certainly not friendly. Hotel was advertised as oldest in city but lacked any charm or character. Immediate location was not very good. Even though room requested was "non Smoking" it had an ash tray. Poor breakfast...no fresh fruit !!!! stalish bread....lacked atmosphere and ambience. the location though convenient but there were quite a number of 'street-sleepers' like people hanging around and we do not feel safe. Very basic breakfast. No atmosphere in hotel at all.I did not like anyting about the hotel. It was very basic and I would not return to it. Not recommended for persons requiring sleep.The walls and ceilings of this very old building are paper thin.I could hear everything the person above me and next to me were saying and doing.In fact, the person next to my room was having a full conversion with the guy across the hall simply by raising their voices slightly.You could hear everyone walking up and down the hall due to no carpet.noisy, poor breakfast, very small room. you could hear people in other roooms.
