The location is perfect, just opposite to Estacion Franca, close to Rambla, the beach, etc..The staff is extremely nice and helpful. They are ready to help us. We changed room twice when we were in this pension because of the noise, and once the room was upgraded. To compensate the inconvenience, the staff provide a bottle of cava as a gift. The location is very strategic. It is just a stone's throw away from the main train station, Estacion of Franca,15 min walk to Barceloneta beach and a few tourist spots are within walking distance eg. The Catedral. The service and information provided is excellent and detailed and they are very helpful and nice.
all reviews » The location is a plus (next to a railway station) The room in which we stayed was very big and had a balcony. Besides the free WiFi there is also a family room (pretty large) with a computer connected to the Internet The staff was very nice and fluent in English. I had booked a room with a shared bathroom and they upgraded me upon arrival at no extra cost. Obviously they had the room free but this is totally a gesture of great service and goodwill. I know a lot of places where they wouldn't dream of doing this. The contactors and the service are really nice and friendly. They speak in good English. The room is clean and with quite well air-conditioner. The location is near metro 'Barceloneta' and one train station, easy to go airport, shopping, and beach. :). The staff was very helpful and friendly. The hotel is in an old building which has high ceilings. The profile of the people staying was very god, mostly young people and families. 20 min to the beach on foot and quite near to the metro station. The location is very convenient 5 minutes to the zoo. Opposite Railway Station 20 minutes from the airport. Ideal for exploring the center and places where you can spend the night. With a small child we were given a fuller comfortable cot. The staff were mostly very helpful and friendly. The location was within walking distance of the metro, La Rambla and the beach. The triple room that I stayed in did not attach a bathroom, so we will have to go out for the common toilets but there are three toilets available and they check their cleanliness frequently. There is a shared bathroom - which was very clean, except the shower (it looked like no one had a shower in there is weeks and no one bother to clean it either) Besides the shared bathroom there is another small room with a toilet, but unfortunately without a sink. My inconsiderate next-door neighbours who found it appropriate to play their television at FULL BLAST well into the small hours of the morning. I didn't complain, cos i don't like to be that person, and instead watched a movie on my laptop with headphones - they almost surely never lived in the centre of a historical city as thin walls are common. However, definately not a fault of the accommodation or management - just inconsiderate guests on this occassion. The only thing people should concern is the noise. Some rooms face the big street, so during the night we felt noisy. It was a bit noisy because not very good sound insulation, the window does not close. There is no separate space for dining. We stayed in the private room for three people, and the shower was VERY small. Other hotel`s clients.Because we have bathroom to share they never clean after using it, even little bit. I can`t remember anything I didn'like. I cannot tell anything bad about pension Ciudadela. I liked my stay and everything was good and satisfying. cant say lot of negatives since everything is subject to adjustments for the costs, rooms sort of cold at night. There is a lot of noise coming from the street. The beds were very squeaky and very uncomfortable. Everyone talks about street noise but remember guys this is a family hostel not a luxury hotel. And noise is NOT that problem if you look for a cosy and good prize hostel. Although the shared bathroom was always clean and tidy, a private one would have been better. We never had a problem with waiting but could imagine it could become a problem. The entrance to the building was rather strange. Passage doors noisy at night,need felt pads to styfl noise. There could be more bathrooms and toilets. Room is a bit noisy cause it is directly facing the road. The Door to the room is difficult to close. Tea and coffee facilities not available in the room, had to climb a flight of stairs or use small lift to the reception to get a cup of coffee. Supplies not replenished and guy that works there is not very friendly. The girls however were excellent. I lived in the room 6 and it was next to the main road, which had a lot of noise. Nothing as such except the wifi. the signal strength was not so good... Staff member who checked us in was not very helpful when we made enquiries about parking and had an attitude of: "If you want to arrive by car in the holiday season, it's your problem". Lock on room door not very secure. No small safe in room available. Although personally I'm not disturbed by the noise from hallway, but maybe the walls and door are not very good noise insulated for people who are very sensitive to noise. The only disadvantage is the noisy street close to the hotel but it's possible to bear it so wasn't so bad. Room 5 was noisy. just the window face to the street, it is noise sometimes. some rooms face an internal dark patio, others facing the street are a bit noisy. It's close to the main street, so a little noisy in the morning. no discontent. Nothing. The bath is too small. beds were not that confortable, very squeeky. Noisy americans (-;. The hostel is located in a rather old building and my room was facing the yard which was a but dark. But it's acceptable for a short stay. Nothing really. Room was a little noisy from the street but that cannot really be helped in Barcelona. So loud! Room was really stuffy.
