Located opposite the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Palau de la Música Catalana, Pensió 2000 is just off Barcelona's Via Laietana. All air-conditioned rooms have private bathrooms and flat-screen satellite TV. Plaza Catalunya is just 5 minutes’ walk away, while Urquinaona Metro Station is just 200 metres away. Barcelona Cathedral and Santa Caterina Market are both within 3 minutes’ walk. All of the spacious, soundproofed rooms in Pensió 2000 have large windows and some have decorated ceilings. All have heating and hairdryers. Some rooms have a balcony with views of Palau de la Música Catalana. One overlooks a terrace-patio and another has access to the terrace-patio. Free coffee, tea and cookies are served all day in Pensió 2000’s library-lounge. The terrace has tables and chairs, while the reception can offer tourist information. Staff will be happy to take your luggage to your room upon prior request.

Pensio 2000 was a real find. Help yourself tea/coffee/cakes and water, all gratis. Even had lovely white dressing gowns provided. An international crossroad location with great mix of people too! Opposite the Music School in fabulous old building. Orlando himself was extremely friendly, welcoming, knowledge and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. No parking or lift but worth the effort. Great value for money but shame it rained!.
all reviews » Location of the hotel is excellent. Close to a metro station and in the middle of Las Ramblas and El Borne. In winter, el borne is a better place to be close rather than since la rambla. The staff has made really nice improvements and facilities in the hotel, that's nice. But some of the stuff like towels and sheets are really too old. The owners are very friendly persons, there is a coffee and tea corner, nice clean room with the view to the Palau de la Musica, very convinient location as it is easy to get on foot anywhere: the beach, the shopping area, our favourite park. Wi-fi worked really fast. Would like to come back again. Fantastic location! You really can't beat it; friendly and accommodating staff; great security; cleanliness - the bathroom was quite new; feels like home because it is someone's home; free Wi-Fi and a laptop in the communal area for guest use; the free tea/coffee/muffins is a nice touch. i liked everything! wonderful accomodation, very nice rest room near reception, clean rooms for living, free breakfast and very kind personal! opposite the hotel there is a house of music, where you can see flamenko-show. everything,made very welcome,nothing was to much trouble,fantastic pen sion,location was perfect,directly oppossite the concert hall,worth a tour,have the breakfast,great value,orlando and his wife were perfect hosts. The owners, Orlando and Manuella, do a great job at maintaining the pension. Located in a great walking neighborhood with lots of historical sites, restaurants and shops. Staff was very helpful. Patio was such a pretty retreat from the busy streets. That affects the feeling of cleanliness of the hotel negatively even if they are clean. At first I couldn't cope with the keys but later got used to them. It wasn't a problem for me but for anyone who is a light sleeper, bring earplugs! A great location means noise. Although the windows have double glazing, there is still some street noise. Also, it's an old building so you will hear the other guests. But while I was there, everyone was very considerate. Expect to walk up two flights of stairs. Again, this wasn't a problem for me but if you have trouble with stairs or lots of heavy bags to carry, it could be an issue for you. everything was wonderful!. There is no elevator. Closed on arrival as they got our arrival date wrong. Description did not mention it was 3 floors up with no lift. Rooms directly off reception so can be noisy during the day. Nothing - everything was alright and had good sleep. Maybe a few too many rules.
