The hostal was ok, nothing luxurious but clean and comfortable. The facility is located on a house and has the reception on the second floor and the rooms on the fifth floor. This was not optimal since one has to ring a bell on the fifth floor to get the main door opened there (the receptionist opens the door from the second floor by watching on a video camera located on the fifth floor). It happened that I had to ring the bell at least 10 times before getting the door opened. Apart from that t.
all reviews » Booked a single room. Small but wasn't expecting much. Good wifi in reception (2nd floor) but nothing in room. Very good location, very good value (paid £24 per night), not much noise from nearby bathroom but you may want to take earplugs. For that money it's the good place to stay if you're a student wishing to see barcelona and it's most beautiful places. Good location. The hostel is well placed near the centre of Barcelona and right between Girona and Verdeguer metro stops. The hotel is well located but not many other good things to say...at least there was a delicious cupcake shop in the same street, few meters further towards Passeig de Gràcia. I can say..clean in general. Location. Wifi connection is only available by the reception. If you have bad luck you can have noisy neighbours, we didn't but this is a hostel so the customers are mostly youngsters, don't forget that!. Shower was very small, impossible to turn around without knocking taps and changing temperature, showers in shared bathrooms were bigger. Room wasn't made up at any point and bin wasn't emptied (I stayed 3 nights). To small pillows in bed. The internet didn't work in rooms. We didn't like, that we had to pay 1 Euro for the towel. On the day of our checkout, when I returned the key at the desk, there was a lady who asked us to bring the remotes of TV and AC from our room which was 3 floors up. That's how she treats her customers. I think it's too expensive for hostel, but in Barcelona all hotels are expensive!. There's no internet connection in our room when I thought its wifi all over the place.. Should place additional router on the 5th floor where it has no connection. Too many people living there to keep it clean enough though it was regularly cleaned, in rush hours you have to wait in order to cook something and try not to overload the fridge. Small shared space. No WiFi in upper floors. It was inconvenient to go down every time to check an e-mail. But it was not drastic and the rest of the service was ok. The main inconvienience was lack of the daylight in the room and the fact that we could hear all other guests in the bathroom and kitchen. It is on the 2nd AND 5th floor of the building, so if you are on the 5th is kind of anoying that you have to always leave the keys at the front desk. However if you are just backpacking/touristing BCN its a great place. small restrooms. Staff were not very helpful. Internet basically only works right by reception. The entire hostel seems to have windows which open only onto a dark courtyard. Finding the place is a little tricky as there is no obvious sign outside telling you where it is. It is on 2nd floor of the building and you have to ring the buzzer to get in to the foyer. Some of the shared bathrooms were very small. the shower rooms are too small, internet connection in the bedroom has limited signal, there is one staff who incapable to handle many visitors at the same time. you cannot check in untill 13:00....but we arriving thee at 11a.m. but we can keep our luggage there. the girl's bathroom is really small... WiFi not accessible in all rooms Staff did their jobs but not friendly. No daily room cleaning. No wifi signal more than half of the rooms. Staff doesn't speak english well, therefore not providing suggestions about the city. Room is small, and can hear noise from neighbour rooms. In 5th floor, there is no heat in winter, unless you ask stuff to turn it on... too noisy, it is hard to sleep. They have many bathrooms, but quantity is not quality...there was no sink (???) in the men's bathroom. In the women's bathroom the toilet space was so small that my knees touched the door when I sat on the toilet...so they invented a system of 2 doors that give way to the knees. In the mixed bathroom there was not hot water. Also, the bed was very noisy even by just rolling on it, and the room was not cleaned during the 4 days we stayed. I didn´t like that the time for using the computers and kitchen was only until 24 h. You are coming after the evening out, and you can´t make anything to eat. - Staff was not extremely friendly - Room was very small - We woke up everytime someone used the common bathroom next to our room. - noise and stink from ventilation - dirty bathroom with door that doesn't even lock - in double room, booked for two persons we have got only single towel.. Not friendly staff, the shower booth in my room was too small, im 5.5 tall but it's even too tiny to me..and also basin is tiny too. The hostel is in the middle floor of a building. So slight not convenient to come in. Have a tv remote in the room but do not turn on. Otherwise they will charge you. Extremely small room, voice transparent,very noisy, can hear foot step and flush in the tiny toilet in the morning. No receipt to the payment. Super slow checking speed. Heating system works in may?! Not comfortable at all, I donot under stand why the rating is higher than 7.
