The location was the best I ever had in Bcn. At least half of points of interest is reachable by feet. Just 200 m or less to the station of A1 and A2 buses to airport. The station with the trains to Portaventura is a bit further, but on the same street as hotel! :) Different options for different tastes and budget to have a breakfast or a dinner or just a glass of...tea ;) nearby. But you also can have a cold snacks with hot and FREE tea, coffee or cacao at the so called living room of the "Goy.
all reviews » Our stay at Hostel Goya and as such in Barcelona was wonderful experience. Hostel staffs were helpful, warm and welcoming. When we arrived at the hostel Ms.Path explained in details where to go, what to see and what to eat. We followed her recommendations and our Barcelona vacation was a memorable experience that we would cherish this life time. The premise and the room were kept spick and span condition. Thanks a lot for your hospitality. Everything was amazing.First of all,very friendly staff who provide us all necessary informations in order to visit the most important Barcelona's sights. Also the location was perfect and the bedroom was exactly what I need after so many hours in the street.Thank you hostal goya for your great hospitality. The staffs are very helpful and competent in terms of guiding you through the city and in providing tips etc. The location is by far the selling point for this hotel since it is just literally 2 minutes away from Plaza Catalunya. I cannot fault this hostal. Price-wise, you get a lot from your money. -beautiful and responsive staff -convenient location (three metro stations, Plaza Catalunya, the Gothic Quarter, Ramblas and many other recreation nearby) -clean, comfortable rooms (the same in-room hair dryer, air conditioning, the reception can be piglets iron). Location is perfect! really close to where Aerobus leaves you and close to many touristic spots. Staff is really friendly and helpful. Water, coffee and tea are avilable for free all day long. The bedroom is exactly like in the pictures. Wifi is really good. Hotel staffs were very friendly and supprotive , we had a little proboem and had been solved by the hotel manager excellently. Only the location is the best thing about the place, just off plaza catalunya and passage de gracia, 10 mins walking to Las Ramblas and to the old city. You will probably hear what is happening in other rooms and on the street as well (since it pretty stuffy inside with closed window/balcony door). The worst part of that were unanswered phone calls to the reception in the middle of the night :) I forgot to tell them that. Hopefully they read. I'd also recommend to ask stuff not to fold towels and put them in piles if they don't change them and a room hosts three people :). Room walls are thin and you could here people talking in adjacent rooms. I wish that they could have provided each room a TV and also offer breakfast. Again, these are "nice to have" and not complaints as I cannot fault this hostal. -as in many hotels spain perfect audibility. Nothing at all, all was perfect. Little difficult to find, as only a doorway off of busy street. Only slight reservation is that walls are thin and noise does carry. the lift did not always work. - Some admin difficulties when booking and when paying the final bill - do the latter with plenty of time to spare - unable to cancel without a charge: I changed my room and it was logistically much easier to cancel and re-book. I lost the 6 euros. Elevator is small and you need to go up stairs to get to it The kitchen equipment could be better. There are tea and coffee-making facilities, but there is only powdered milk...and I like fresh better. Yeah, no biggie. Nothing!. Pricey for the spec, mind u it's quite expensive to stay in BCN city center. Could be a bit noisy at time so not suitable if ur light sleepers. Don't expect a big hotel sign at the entrance so know the house number when ur looking for it. The room that we were given was small, and there was a little bit of disturbing noise from the window, which faced a patio with an airconditioning motor. After two nights, though, we were upgraded to a better room. Besides, the shower's door was very hard to open and close. There were no facilities to dine inside the hostel. walls were thin, could easily hear outside of the room. Very small room not worth 113 euro. If you get room 104 say no thank you. Very thin walls, normal conversations can be heard from neighbouring room. The rest was very poor quality, their website and pics are very misleading. For the price we paid (95 euros per night) I was expecting a better value. Dirty room and towels. The linens had marks and when we asked for our room to be cleaned they just made the bed.The place was very noisy, we got woken up at 3am and 5am from people coming back from their night out, shouting, talking loud. Parking was charged 27 euros per day eventhough on the booking form it states 25 euros.
