We were on our way to our honeymoon destination and stayed over at the hotel which was a wedding gift from my brother and sister-in-law. Got to the room and there were dried rose peddals everywhere - on the bed, on the floor, even in the bathroom with a bottle of champaign. It was so romantic. And the breakfast buffet the next morning..WOW.. it was so nice. Thank you for a wonderful stay. Overall the hotel's proximity to the airport, is obviously an attractive and fit-for-purpose design is what makes it attractive. This is my second stay in as many months. Transit bus from the airport also a very attractive feature.
all reviews » Perfect hotel to relax from a long flight prior to our short transfer to Kruger the next day. Friendly staff excellent food. I relaxed around the pool in the afternoon and had a great night's sleep. The 24 hour shuttle service from the airport was top class. Food and accommodation was very good and we will have no hesitation in using these facilities when passing through OR Tambo. Location, dinner is relatively cheap and really good, amazing salad bar. I was disappointed that my name had been entered into the system incorrectly, a minor aspect, but disappointing as I had made the booking on-line and therefore my details were correct on entry. This small detail had a flow-on inconvinience when it came to the internet. However, overall a minor inconvinience under the circumstances. Nothing. Access to WIFI is ridiculously complicated. Why in expensive hotels always silly systems, especially when working with a smart phone, while in an average bar or coffee shop the WIFI access code will be written on the wall, free and easy to use for all clients. The times have changed.... I even had to wait until I was checked in to get access. As I was early, and my room not ready, I had to wait 2 hours. Without being able to use these two hours to work with internet access. 1. Was not informed of pay for parking and amount so I was not ready with the fee. 2. The clerk had to reverse the reserved fee on my wifes' credit card as I paid with mine, and I have not received confirmation that this was done. It was difficult to find the bus shuttle from the airport, since few information was provided. When we arrived in the room we found a man sleeping, and we didn't understand why (either the recepionist did): at the end a new room was given us. Not all reception staff were equally kind and friendly; they did not had into consideration my announce of an early arrival; the lavatory in the bathroom had too low water pressure and smell badly.... A one off not the fault of the hotel. I wanted to extend my booking another night but the hotel was block booked for the Mandela passing. no decent lighting in the room, minibar not stocked unless you ask, no factual menu to use the tv easily without having to scroll thru everything, pay for wifi. Internet was down for over a day. The shower didn't work properly. Checking in and out a little slow but not a big deal. bath sink did not drain well. trying to use computer in business center was user unfriendly. Just like twice before, the hotel didnot had my reservation. I showed the email and they managed to find a room but it took a while. My shower was not working. Didnt see the need to complain then since i had already bathed. But you can check my room. I would have have loved the wireless Internet access to be free. The fact that the bed running was really dirty and had food items stuck to it - the rest of the bed linen was fresh and clean. Wasn't as close to the airport as I had expected. Food quality for "Room Service" was very bad. Restaurant was very noisy, not suitable for business entertainment. More generally the hotel is beginning to show its age. Not a thing. The people in rooms next to me where very loud. I have no criticisms to make of my experience. I felt that the meals were overpriced!. Not for holiday stay - mainly for convenience. Restaurant food quality. No negatives. Not enough staff. ( 2 counters open for passport check out on 16.) unacceptable. Nothing. Toilet flush was a bit difficult to use. Decor was slightly dated. lack of help with baggage, salt and pepper calamri not cooked properly.
