Nicely situated on the hill overlooking Houts Bay with beautiful view. Nice room with individual terras. Well arranged garden with pool and pond. Fantastic breakfast and the whole time a perfect and friendly service with several nice surprises. Well situated to discover the Cape area but still calm and close to the nature. Friendly staff and a lovely breakfast on each morning of our stay. The location is ideal for people on holiday as it is a short drive into Cape Town centre but also the many scenic places in and around Hout Bay. Oh that Driveway! - it is a challenge - adds an element of excitement to each exit and entry to the property.
all reviews » Cannot recommend Dreamhouse enough. The owners and staff are faultless as are the views. Our room had everything we needed and the free wifi was a big plus. The only thing we would have liked was our own iron for convenience. We will definitely be returning here when we return to Cape Town in the future,. It's one of the best hotels we ever visited in the world. The young lady working there named Anna (or Hanna) was so nice and helpful. Magical location.. excellent breakfast.. best service ever.. close to very good attractions like Hout Bay and the Birds and Monkey Paradise. We were welcomed by Anna who had been in contact with us following the booking.She was extremely friendly & professional. The view just outside our room was amaising, showing the whole of Hout Bay. Breakfasts were delicious. Ivanka, who owns and runs the place, is charming and professional We were given a free upgrade to a luxury room with the most fantastic view - divine! The breakfasts are extremely elegant and the staff are delightful. Spectular view everywhere (even from the room, breakfast table and bath tub), very comfortable cushions all around the garden to enjoy the view and relax, best breakfast ever and extremely kind staff. Anna made our stay simply fabulous, we where treated amazingly.Breakfast is top of the class,and location is aweaome. Take your car,drive there and enjoy an oasis of tranquility. Will be back;-). The bed needs new pillows with firmer support. nothing is within a walking distance. so you must have a car when go there. There were many stairs to get down to our room. The driveway is not for the faint-hearted! One or two bits of maintenance required in the room. I liked all about it. Nothing. Be very careful of the driveway it's a mission and a half to pull out! Rather park on the side of the road. Slightly difficult to park next to the room, but possibility to park elsewhere in or near the guesthouse. The room (Violet) was tiny and the shower leaks. The driveway....but the view makes up for the panic each time we went in and out!. Parking was difficult, fair drive down a steep hill to restaurants and the Wi-Fi did not work in our room. no spare toilet paper , the room being under the main house. The wi fi, was only possible to use it in the main house by the front door... The parking was a bit tight, and very steep but we managed. What you didn't tell us was that we were not in 4 star rooms because we booked through you and that we had 45 steps to go down to our room every day. There was absolutely nothing to dislike. Winter Weather in Cape Towm. nothing. The open plan bathroom did not have a mirror for shaving and there were very few coathangers in wardrobe. Alarm going off 5 times at midnight without an apology or explanation next day:-(. Parking srrangements. The alarm system is intimidating for one who is not familiar with using alarms. A keyless entry system would be much more user friendly. A directional sign would help as the municipal street numbers are all mixed up. Overpriced. The most expensive stay during our 3 weeks trip in SA and not the best at all. Far from CT and Hout Bay. Had to park in the street. Got a so-called "secluded herb garden" but was asked to let the light at night for other customers... The room was tiny and dark. Kingbed consist in 2 single bed jointed by a sheet. No light in the shower. No ocean view. Asked for a better room : extra charge 400 R/pn. Too expensive. Very disapointing!.
