It very homely. the breakfast. 5 star BandB, staff fantastic nothing was too much trouble, real attention to small detail made you feel you were in a 5 star hotel, brilliant views over the sea for sunset. Information about the area

138 Marine Beachfront Guesthouse is an enchanting base from which to explore this magnificent eco-destination and an hour’s drive from Cape Town International Airport.

The area is renowned for possibly the best land-based whale watching in the world (from May until December).

The guest house is a stone’s throw from a quaint assortment of village restaurants, craft markets, boutiques, bars, art galleries, charming little shops, and unspoiled beaches. Located next to the beach pathway, it provides exquisite sea and mountain scenery.

Travelling information

By car from Cape Town International Airport: -Follow the N2 North in the direction of Somerset West. -Cross Sir Lowry’s Pass and Houw Hoek Pass. -Take the R43 Botrivier/Hermanus turn-off to your left. -Continue another 26 km, past Hawston, Vermont and Onrus. -Turn right onto Main Road at the 2nd set of traffic lights (2 km before Hermanus). -Follow the road until you reach the T-junction at the beach front. -Turn right onto Marine Drive (Kusweg), the guest house is 500 metres down the road. From Oudtshoorn/Knysna on the N2: - Drive along the N2, take the R326 turn-off towards Stanford & Hermanus, 13 km after Riviersonderend. - When you reach the T-junction at Stanford (55 km), turn right onto the R43 towards Hermanus (23 km) - Drive along the Main Road through the business section of Hermanus, past the 2nd Shell petrol station, past a Total petrol station on your left, until you reach an Engen petrol station on your left at a traffic light - Turn left towards the sea, and continue until you reach the T-junction at the beach front. - Turn right into Marine Drive (‘Kusweg’). Number 138 is clearly signposted 500 meters down the road.
