They will tell you where you can see the whales for free and we saw more than what we saw on the boat trip that we paid for r 650/each.   This guesthouse has an amazing location. I could see whales from my balcony. It's also an easy walk to Walker Bay Nature Reserve for an unforgettable hike on mostly deserted beaches and trails. Overall, Gans Bay is ideal if you're looking for a quiet, relaxing getaway. I would go back. And the guesthouse manager is super friendly. Finally, I'm not into shark diving and opted for a drive to Cape Agulhas instead. - the manager of the guest house was so sweet, and went out of her way to make us happy - making breakfast how we asked for it- even getting free range eggs - bringing mozzie stuff we had forgotten from her own home. The room we stayed in was very basic but very comfortable (i recommend the honeymoon suite) but had a magnificent view of the sea and its in a beautiful location
