it's at the city centre. a block away from the metro station and other historical tourist attractions. it's a few minutes walk from the waterfront too. the breakfast buffet is also fulfilling. i wonder if they change the menu, however, 2 days worth of buffet was fine with me. the room was also very spacious and offers a good view of table mountain and the other buildings. i fell in love with capetown and wanna live there for a month or so. i'd definitely go back and recommend this hotel.
all reviews » Maybe I was lucky but my room was very large, at 9th floor with a nice view of the city center. Also the bathroom was big and clean. Well located in the center in st georges mall street near shops and not so far from green market square. Good breakfast served in a separate cafè close to the hotel. Good free wi-fi signal. The reception/congierge is very efficient and gave me information on tour and restaurant were to go. The location of this hotel is brilliant.If you are staying aweek it is not worth the trouble of hiring a car.The rooms are spacious and light,very comfortabe.I would stay there again.They have a few problems the lift needs fixing,but more importanly house cleaning needs to improve.Overall it is a very nice hotel and the staff are terrific. We were in a bit of a crisis when we arrived at St Georges. The staff were unbelievable helpfull. We got our room a bit earlier and they even arranged for the SA Police to come to the hotel. The follow up help that we received was wonderful. A very BIG thank you to all the staff members that helped us through our ordeal. M Renders. I liked everything about this hotel- the decor was a little dated, but the room was spacious and comfortable and very clean. We had a great view of Table mountain and the staff couldn't do enough for you- some of the friendliest and very best service I've received. For the price we paid, this was outstanding value!. When I chose this hotel, it was the only 3-star hotel available in Cape Town Downtown. The location of the hotel was magnificent, it's is in the heart of the city. The hotel was fairly clean and breakfast was acceptable for 3 stars and the staff were very nice and helpful. Friendly staff, spacious, clean and comfortable room. Parking arrangement and service gives you big peace of mind. The breakfast at kitchen Deli and dining independence also works nicely, yet independent and convenient, lots of places around to choose, all just close by. The a/c wasn't working properly in my room and there was no way to open the window! Sometimes you have to wait for more than 10 minutes for them to bring your car from the parking because there is only one driver. Thought the bath/shower was very tired. Looked as if tiles had been replaced but bathroom needed upgrading. Surprised no breakfast served but worked out fine nextdoor. none. Our refrigerator did not work, but we were too shy to report it. We thought it just wasn't a good refrigerator. Spent seven days like that (our own fault). TV was small but then I wasn't there to watch TV. Nothing. Housecleaning is terrible, no restaurant on site, TV channels limited, valet parking available (I prefer not to use). no comment. decor is a bit dated. Lack of tea making facilities in the room. Rather old rifts. Parking is a bit of a hassle. Had to wait a while for assistance in this regard. Experienced noise (music) bleeding through from a disco in the same building in early hours of the morning. Overall I had a good stay. The lifts nearly drove me crazy. I believe they were to be sorted out that Monday we left. Lets see as I am booked again in a few weeks. Nothing in particular. Bath would need a renovation Poorly sound-proofed. Nothing. The fact that no windows can open; TV is old and limited channels; bathrooms in need of upgrade. Toilets need attention. Absolutely nothing. Nothing. Interior was pretty old, however, everything was clean and in working condition. The fact that the windows cannot open makes the hotel "stuffy" (for lack of a better word) at times. A different ventilation system might help with that? A minor issue was the fact that there is no smoking area (such as a smokers' lounge) inside. no bar in the hotel but a few close by. Nothing to add here. The interior was a bit outdated-curtains need replacing (the lace). Some parts of the hotel were looking a little bit "tired", but it was being redecorated while we were there. The lift is noisy and takes a long time to come up. The breakfast is available outside the hotel, though close by. We were given vouchers for breakfast. While the buffet selection was excellent, the restaurant setting was extremely noisy during our first visit - around 8am. As a result we skipped the complimentary breakfast on the first morning. We went around 10am on our last morning and found that things had quieted down considerably at that hour and, as a result, thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Slowly wifi... The window in my room was sealed shut, therefore no fresh air in the room. The other lady didn't clean my bathroom, otherwise it was not bad. Too much of data collected by the Hotel at the time of payment. nothing. Only 9 tv channels, wifi connectivity and signal issues. Hotel needs Restaurant, Room Service and perhaps just a little bit of an upgrade decor-wise.
