Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Check-in and check-out went smoothly enough. The hotel somehow only had us booked for one room, but I showed them my confirmation from letsbookhotel.com, and they quickly got us situated in the two rooms we had reserved. (They weren't next to each other, but they were close.) We got an extra bed at no extra cost, which was surprising, but helped a lot. all reviews » The hotel is close to Kremlin and about 15 min walk to the railway station. There`s a restaurant and a bar in the hotel, besides there are quite a few cafes and bars close to it. The hotel`s clean and you can see that it has recently undergone a refurbishment. Our room was neat and cosy, bathroom was very clean (which I oved a lot!). The staff was very friendly, they didn`t forget the preferences I noted in my booking and gave some nice recommendations about where to have dinner. In the morning. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Wireless Internet access is only available for free in the commons areas, not in your room. The bathrooms, although functional, are a tight fit. No clock. No black-out curtains; as we were there during early July, which is still during white nights, this was not super conducive to sleeping. Rooms, especially if you get an extra bed, are a little cramped. The restaurant closes at 11 pm and the looby bar at that time was not open either... It was quite cold late in the evening when we came to the hotel and I was dying to get a cup of tea or hot chocolate but was not able to get any, unfortunately. Room service was not functioning as well. That`s the only drawback of the hotel i can name. Nothing. Wifi wasn't good in our room. Not major at all. The breakfast is very "russian style". Do not expect western breakfast, the scrambled eggs were terrible. Not enough space in rooms. No air-conditioning in the room = very hot inside during the day. This is still Russia, no minibar in room, restaurant is closed at 10 in the evening. Noisy repair under windows. no more coffee late in the evening. The hotel on site did not have an English translated menu. Trying to decipher Cyrillic letters to find a meal proved impossible , although very tired, we trekked back into town to find a restaurant with translated menus. This seemed like a pretty big oversight on the hotels part. . The twin room I had reserved smelled of detergent mixed with urine. The wallpaper was not neatly attached in places. The staff at the reception desk asked me to fill in my passport data and were too meticulous about details, such as the code of the department that had emitted my ID. Spotty internet access. last time I'v got a very nice room with the same price but this time they gave me not a good room. The smell, the staff is apathetic to guests, gloomy long corridors, the total impression is quite depressive. Bathroom could hardly be called so, as it was abt 1 m2..
