We chose to go in early March for our wedding anniverssary. The hotel is located within walking distance (for us 70-year olds) of Peterand Paul fortress and the Hermitage crossing two different pairs of bridges across the Neva in each case. The steadily reducing distance as you approach lends an enchantment to the panorama you may not enjoy staying in the heart of the city. We stayed three nights and there were four different receptionists during that time. Each spoke excellent English, was che.
