The hotel was excellent! I arrived at 10 am and the stuff kindly checked me in, no questions asked. the stuff was very kind and professional. the concierge were professional and helped me to find places and activities in my interest. i left at 6.30 am, the check out was very fast and the hotel arranged me a lunch box with some breakfast in it for the way - because i left before breakfast - without extra charge. Also, the location of the hotel is superb, right in the center of the city.
all reviews » The level of staff service and support was the best we have ever encountered. My wife lost her bag in the taxi from the airport ...being Russia we gave up any hope of getting it back. The hotel staff moved into action immediately, sent their driver to the airport and made sure we got it back ( within a few hours). They didn't have to do that but were genuinely concerned. The room, the breakfast, the location on Nevsky Prospekt, closeness to the metro ...just perfect. 5 of us were there to watch our team Liverpool fc play Zenit & from the moment we arrived the staff on reception,bars were fantastic,within 5 minutes of checking in we were served glasses of champagne,we finished off each night in the hotel bar,service was superb,also a special mention for Marina on the concierge desk,she was brilliant the morning we were leaving,thanks to you all. very very nice personal! we don't speak local language, there are lots of troubles like booking tickets and taxi, and the concierges are really professional and helpful. room is clean and comfortable also. and the best pillow i've ever slept on :). Our rooms were average for a 5* hotel, especially the bathroom. Queues at the reception in case of arrival of groups or many guests at once (which is a common case, as the hotel has a lot of rooms). The hotel was on the main street which is fine, but a little bit up from where the main attractions are. unpleasant smell of damp from water pipes happened to be in the bathroom. I asked for an iron to press my shirt and i was friendly promissed to be provided with it. But finally nobody brought it. I was waiting for an hour. I was disappointed that there was not a pool. Not Applicable .,. After hard thinking I suggest the hotel to improve the showers in the bathrooms. Adjusting water temperature was not smoothly. The wi-fi was poor in my room, but great everywhere else, the staff, albeit super friendly and nice, was at time absent minded. The concierge sent me to two churches that were closed on Wednesdays, my keys didn't open my room, etc. However the awesome staff in the lounge made me forget this. The Hermitage is a 30 minute walk away. The concierge needs improvement. They offer very little assistance with luggage. We nearly missed our transfer as poor communication. Strange smell on the sixth floor (canalization). To compare to last year breakfast had less fish (herring). Nothing else. no swimming pool. Some of the staff were very, very poor (lobby bar). Some basic things didn't work in the room and did not get corrected after being mentioned to staff. This would be a solid 4-star business hotel in Europe. Everything was fine as I said, but I would expect something more at this level. Hotel corridors are a bit ugly. No curved mirror in the bathroom, not very comfortable bed. No wi-fi signal in the room. Had to explore the room to find the right corner with weak wi-fi. Maybe the bathroom show its age. Should be renewed. Smell on the sixth floor. Staff is not competent. They charge my credit card twice for one room and returned money only in two days. The price was greater than in booking confirmation. Standard room was way too small - we needed to request the update. Low noise in the room coming from the road. prostitutes in lobby and bar in the evening. nothing was hidden- very negative feeling about it. We had problems with cold water on the seventh floor. staff in restaurant at Breakfast work very slowly constantly had to ask for something to bring: problems with Cutlery. I was staying in suite,including lounge ,menu was poor. Rusty water in bathroom. Personnel do not speak neither Russian nor English (except reception). No umbrellas available for very rainy day even at executive level room. Poor selection of bathroom amenities. Turn down service provided for executive level but this only done on first night. Mini bar not replenished. Staff not so good Rooms small , never told me about the new part of hotel No Internet at rooms. Not be managed, couldn't check-in on time. Attitude of reception staffs.
