i have been staying at Hotel Yunost two or three times a year for five or six years. it has steadily got better and is pleasant and comfortable place to stay. There is the metro close by plus it easy to park or get collected from the hotel. The rooms and facilities are perfectly good and there is now robust wifi throughout the hotel which is really a relief as it used to be a bit patchy. I would happily reccommend Hotel Yunost as a good value hotel and a comfortable base.
all reviews » I booked a standart room. The staff made an upgrade for me for the same price which was a great surprise. There is an access to wi-fi on the each floor (earlier it was only on 8th). The staff is friendly. The room has everything I need. Location is excellent especially for business trips as it is next to metropolitan. Also, there are supermarkets not far away. The quality and location are great for the relatively expensive city of Moscow. I liked the ease of staying next to the subway, and found it very easy to get to and from the University as well as the city center. The hotel was clean (enough) and modern (enough), though obviously a Soviet remnant. The Georgian cafe next door is tasty and easy for a dinner. I ordered an apartment of economy class, but on arrival I was offered a first class apartment for the same price. The staff was helpful. The room included everything for three starred hotel and even more. In the lobby you can buy tickets for plane, bus and train. After three previous stays, I finally tried the fitness centre. It's outstanding. I also like the deliberate Soviet ambience and the art collection. 1) the location is convenience 2) Near to metro station within walking distance 3) accessibility to convenience store is good. Small bathroom, the room is not very clean. -No internet in the room - only top floor! -No privacy - all guest have to be registered by entrance (I know it is Russia but this the only hotel I know in Moscow to do that way) plus a tutoress like on each floor which makes you feel back in your youngster days (which might explain the name of the hotel - Yunost - Youth). Very small rooms. Very dirty corners, dust everywhere in the room and bathroom, parking not for free. My window was very dirty so I could not enjoy the sight of the city. No service to book any sight-seeing. The hotel is not really intended for tourists. There are not conditions in the rooms, too hot and noisy. So march dust is in the hotel. small rooms and pore restorant. Staff does not speak English. Hotel needs renovation. Cleanliness. We were so shocked to find that the room was not air conditioned and the temperature in the room was 40 degrees. It was so hot. Thanks to Julia at the reception who is so kind to move us to an air conditioned room after a lot of negotiations. Staff are so unhelpful. We travelled around Moscow and Saint Petersburgh and all the hotels we stayed at are excellent with friendly staff, good food, and good facilities. Yunost Hotel is the worst. They would not give the travel voucher for the visa - I had to go to antoher company to get this. Air con is only in some rooms - need to get it when hot Old world service - restauant everything come out of order Staff some ok others miserable. Not clean bathroom, no view out of window, marketing materials soviet. The staff was impolite,unprofessional and lazy. Quality / price small room wifi very very slow. Everything else. Boorish staff of this ex-soviet hotel.
