I liked everything, literally. No complains at all. Everything was high quality, the staff was very nice, the room was beautiful, quite luxurious and very clean. The hotel in general was very good, all the lounge areas were great, the gym and the swimming pool, jaccuzzi and sauna were great. Everything was just super comfortable. The location of the hotel is not very central, but it is very close to the metro (7 or 8 minute walk) and it's just a couple of stations until the centre, so it was to.
all reviews » The room size, bed, comfort, breakfast, the bathroom are all great. The whole hotel is a part of the Petroff Palace, and that makes it a really interesting place to visit. You see the old restored Russian palace and stay in a 4 star hotel. The restoration is new, and everything inside and out is newly painted and restored. Also, all safety measures are fully compliant with the most stringent Russian rules. One of the best hotel value for money, after the long journey on the bike and the result of tours in the beautifull city, the hotel offered to guests included in the price of being, able to use sauna, turkish bath and swimming pool! In our early check-out, they have prepared excellent breakfast to take with us. very close to the metro, fantastic staff - very helpful and they spoke excellent english. the rooms are HUGE. Food from the restaurant was excellent. Other people have complained about the breakfast - I didn't see anything wrong with it. For the same price as the big chain hotels downtown it was perfect. Excellent hotel but a bit far from the center. There is metro station near by. So, it is very easy to get to the downtown Moscow. The place is great and very spacious room and wonderful friendly staff. We would definitely stay there if we come back to Moscow. Size. some parts of the palace were off limits due to pre-arranged functions taking place (a tour and a wedding). It happened every day we were there. A little far out from the centre (but the metro links are good). Opening the door from the inside was confusing (you have to put your key card into a slot as though you were opening from outside!) The pillows were cheap foam - huge letdown compared to the bed. This is not related to the hotel but as a general advice, one should be very careful when using taxis. Little bit hard to find the entrance from first attempt. Petroff Palace was in the process of changing owners. It was owned by the military until very recently, and has been a hotel for a very short time. Because of this, some of the palace is being renovated for guests. the breakfast - there was little there for a range of tastes I asked for a fried egg or omelette as I don't like hard boiled eggs and was told I couldn't have either. Everything was absolutely perfect. The swimming pool wasn't open in the morning and this has been not very good for a business overnight. Unfortunately they do not have a license to serve alcohol at their restaurant. The Health centre opens after 9- it is very late if you want to use facilities before starting the day. The price of the rooms is very high even compared to 5 stars hotels in Moscow. Weak shower force in the bathroom. No wine served in restaurant. the sound of underground in the room. Pool too cold for us. Food v expensive. tasty breakfast but little bit poor choose. No liquor license TV not working. breakfast is ok,but for a 4 stars at this price should be better. Inaccessibility for others to see all the beauty of this place. The lack of taxi in front of main entrance.
