This is a truly stunning gem of a property. Our time in Satu Mare City was during a freakish amount of rain, but the outdoor patio looked amazing. Our favorite part of the entire property was the restaurant -- which had an amazing menu at astounding prices, and Mihai, Grigorie, and Arnold made our otherwise emotional trip to Romania a truly amazing and relaxing experience. Room was really spacious on the 2nd floor, a kind of mansard but with a high ceiling. Classical furniture. Beautiful courtyard, tasty food in restaurant.

Very nice garden, very nice interiors. Good garden restaurant. Interesting architecture. I think that in Satu Mare you have limited options. The advertised "free parking" is five or six public spots on the street outside the hotel. The elevator only goes to the first floor, which is only a problem if you're silly Americans like us with too much luggage. The lift takes you to the 1st floor and you have to continue up the stairs. The breakfast included in the price one must pick from a list, which is ok but within the limits of 6 positions, also including butter, bread, water as separate units. And what was called fruits turned out to be rather unripe orange hard to peel that I asked them to slice at least. And the waiter did it in front of me in an aristrocratic manner with a serving knife - that required a lot of efforts from a poor guy. Quality of handles and knobs were bad, you really had to watch out not to pull them off... I couldn't spend more time there. The water in the room heater was noisy all the night. Impossible to sleep at all. The way you have to select the type of breakfast for the next day, including hour. The breakfast must be scheduled both as time and menu in the evening before. Even if is nice weather the waiters do not serve the breakfast on the terrace. My room was standard, nothing like the ones in the pictures... A lot of noise comming from room 102. All night long somebody was entering the room and making noise. The staff probably. ** Also during the night a big problem with mosquitos !!! big problem. The room has no nets on the windows and you can not sleep because of insects !. Being charged 16LEI( $5 )for a glass of mediocre white wine with only 2 fingers of wine in the wine glass. Don't enjoy ripoffs.
