This is a very nice hotel and I hope to go back next year. The staff was very nice and the hotel was very clean and comfortable. I liked having the pool right outside my door and being able to relax in it 24/7. The beach is also very close and seemed more private than the other area beaches. Margarita, the manager was very nice and made a point to make sure we had everything we needed. The Niche (hotel's restaurant) was also very nice and Donna that works in the restaurant was very friendly and.
all reviews » I only stayed one night and because of circumstances it was a last minute call. From the moment I called they were helpful courteous, and from the moment I arrived I felt home. The staff was friendly and accommodating they have me a great room it was clean and cozy. It was right next to the beach and although a city beach it was very pleasant. The price was right and affordable. I would have loved to stay there longer. I recommend it. We stayed there twice, before and after going to a cruise. We were in both rooms next to the hot tub,the most expensive ones but through booking we had a huge discount. We got ice fron the machine, and drank champagne in the hot tub. perfect, quiet, relaxing. as there was no one around we were also smoking. The keys don't work for every room, we checked. The location in the Condado area was within walking distance to a number of good restaurants, you were one building away from a lovely beach, the hotel has a pool size hot tub right outside your room, the premises were clean. The hot tub is huge and overlooks the beach. It takes two seconds to walk to the beach, they even have chairs and coolers you can borrow (first come, first serve). The room was very clean and the staff was very friendly. Service at Acacia was beyond compare. Michelle at the front desk was so helpful and kind. Even though there is no overnight person the staff at their sister hotel, Windchime Inn, are willing to come help out when needed. The restaurant Niche was not very good. Paid $50 for breakfast and the eggs and steak were over cooked. The breakfast sandwich was pretty bad. There are no elevators and we were on floor 3 with large suitcases. No fridge or microwave but we did see one in the lobby so they may have been available upon request. Is kind of dificult finding a parking, beside that everithing was great. a few of the staff were less than attentive, but the others made up for it. The dimness of the lobby lighting at night was offputting and the dinner menu was a expensive for such a modestly priced hotel. Also the darapes in my room were stained. These were minor issues; I would definitiely recommend the Acacia to my friends. I would love some sheer curtains added so we could still see out and have a little privacy while in the room :) The main curtains were the only option. Parking was at a premium, otherwise you get the street so good luck. Our room (207) had a strange layout. One long, skinny room with 4 single beds. Our King bed was just 2 singles pushed together, pretty uncomfortable. The lobby is freezing!. The room with a balcony was wonderful but did not have a private balcony - it was the entry to the rooms. It was nice that they had chairs to sit on though. That you had to walk to the "sister hotel" Wind Chime to get complimentary coffee. No elevator, no one to turn the room key at 6 am. Access to room by metal key, with $150 penalty for loss. Nothing!. There's a sorry lack of good restaurants around Acacia. The hotel in the restaurant is gourmet, but it also seems like it might be prohibitively expensive for a lot of travelers. I don't have any bad things on Acacia. Yeah you get the regular comments that the rooms are small but who needs a big room when in Puerto Rico, there's lot to see!. No elevator, which could have been a problem for older people carrying luggage. We arrived early (9:30am), but couldn't check-in until 2:30pm. There was no locked room to store our luggage - had to leave it in the lobby by the desk. The bed was too firm for my liking. No coffee maker in a room. Both the rooms and food are a bit overpriced. No complimentary coffee!! Had to walk to sister hotel to get coffee in the morning, not convenient. Noisy room on street - I like to sleep with windows open but not able to - air conditioner buffered it well. It was a bit overpriced, did not include breakfast like most B&B type places and parking was minimal. Location was very residential and not much going on at night. The beach had rough water. Super expensive restaurant downstairs. Pretty long stair climb to our room. Could be a bit noisy. King mattress really two twins pushed together. Would be better if breakfast were included. The website says that the hotel has wi-fi but only the very small lobby and the restaurant have wi-fi and it doesn't work in the rooms because of the thickness of the walls. That definitely needs to be clarified on the site but it's intentionally misleading. Also, some seats around the pool would be nice. no staff in early am at front desk. $20 for a martini, $9 for a bottle of beer, $540 for a pork chop $14 for a glass of wine...all are outrageous. Parking arrangements were not good. although the food was very good it was over priced and the chef had a hard time making it to work on time, piticularly for breakfast. No parking. Parking us horrible. Restaurant not open when they said it would. No parking. Cost of drinks but bartender was fantastic. Bathrooms were a bit small, but ok. The switch on one of the lamps in my room was broken and the lamp could not be used. The hair dryer in the room was broken. They did provide another hair dryer. The unattractive curtains were blackout curtains and had wholes.
