Our one bed on the 4th floor was lovely, clean and comfortable - room 710. The decor was tasteful and we even had a bit of a view from our picture windows. Mirrored ceiling gave the place a very spacious feel and there was an electronic safe in the wardrobe. We had a couch and coffee table, a small fridge, hob and sink, a small pan and frying pan plus complimentary coffee, milk etc however we opted for B&B. all reviews » Amazing value for money. This is an unusual and slightly quirky hotel. It has been modernised to a good standard and the rooms have a number of unusual features such as hand painted murals, brick arches, crazy paved marble flooring and a small fitted kitchen area. The location is excellent - literally a stone's throw from the market square - hidden away in a quiet street. Very efficient heating system and spotlessly clean.The staff on the reception desk could not have been more helpful. We also. The whole buildings design was to my liking from the old brickwork to the old wooden beams with a modern twist. The building was in the prosess of being done up but the quality was already there, the room was perfect and the staff were superb. I would love to come back when the upgrades/building is complete. Krakow itself beat all expectaions and this hotel was just off the main square in an ideal location. Right in the heart of the city! Main Square just a few blocks away. Safe was very helpful! Everyone spoke English. Able to provide plenty of sightseeing information. Make sure to set your airport pick up with them. We paid 89z for a taxi from the airport...we set up return trip with hotel for only 70z and it took half the time. It seems the taxi driver took the long way. The location was excellent. Considering it was under refurbishment there was no noise, the rooms were very quiet and they had air conditioning which was fab due to the very hot weather. About a mile to the shopping centre and the bus/train station with connections to The Saltmines and Austwitz Camp. The tours are easlily organised yourself (not through tour shops) ask at reception. The apartment is right near the centre. We had a studio which was really spacious the apatment for 4 was great not as much room as the studio though. The staff arranged the taxi transfers and the trips to Auschwitz which were very reasonably priced, especially the transfer 160 zlotys for 7. I would recommend it and would stay there again. A little bit post- industrial interior, with bricks and great stone floor makes this hotel very unique. It was convenient to nice bars and great value restaurants .the breakfast in the adjoining restaurant was lovely but quite expensive .we had dinner there one night and it was fab fine dining .Overall a great stay would love to return. The hotel is obviously a work in progress, so there were things that looked a bit unfinished - unless that's part of the quirky, arty impression we are supposed to get. A new reception desk was under wraps whilst the young lady who welcomed us sat at an old table in an adjoining room, huddled next to an equally ancient two bar fire! Signage was almost non-existent outside the hotel; a pity because the place has lots to shout about. I didnt mind the few bits of upgrade work being done but others might. The ONLY complaint i have is the builing/ restuarant was a smoking zone. even on the 4th floor i could smell strong cigarette smoke which i detest. Could hear people walking down the hallway because of the marble/tile floors. Was only a problem when people came in late a night and choose to talk in the hallway. There were no full length mirrors in the hotel room. When girls are getting ready we need a full length mirror. The only mirror was in the bathroom! Oh and be careful of the beds, they are very confortable but they are no low you tend to walk into the legs and stub your shins!. Only a few of minor things that could have made the hotel even better was that it needed a mirror in the bedroom as the only mirror for drying hair, applying make up etc was in the bathroom. The TV received no English speaking channels and the cups in the kitchenette were small coffee cup size when a mug would have been better. Still a bit of work being completed at the hotel but we hardly noticed. No change of towels or restock of bathroom. Nothing. Our room didn't have a wardrobe, the coat stand was o.k but a wardrobe would have been nice. Being purely pedantic the beds although were extremely comfortable, were very low, and my wife having recently had two new knees found it difficult to get up from the bed. THIS WOULD NOT STOP US STAYING HERE AGAIN THOUGH. Rooms facing the hostel are noisy and sleep is disrupted especially at the weekend. Milk was not replenished for the tea and coffee. Housekeeping was basic during our stay. Not enough vegetarian meals offered in the restaurant. nothing. The only thing I had a problem with was the fact I only booked for 2days,I would have stayed there longer only I had an engagement elsewhere in Poland . The outside of the building looks run down and reception is being done up. but neither of those cosmetic things affected our stay. The hotel is not finished yet, you can see undergoing work. But it didn't disturb our stay. I think reception are needs to be improved. More welcoming and small reception desk instead of normal desk. It would have been useful to have extended the house rules to the use of high heels. The tiled floored transferred the noise exceptionally well to the lower floors. The hotel is works in progress, not that it was inconvenient really. Everything was great, but a mini bar would have made it fantastic. Nothing. The appartments were still being renovated so noisy not all the time but in the morning and very dusty etc. The noise carries for rooms next door. The rooms havent been finished off properly. There was nothing I didnt like. You have to go to a restaurant next door to eat breakfast. going from the reception to the elevators there is construction and it is dark in the evening. It wasn't a problem but there was a bit of building work going on in the lobby. It was only during working hours and it didn't cause usany problems. No ironing board but an iron was available from reception. The pillows too small and not padded enough. A little better sound proofing wouldn't go a miss and maybe just one English TV channel! Nevertheless, this would not stop me from recommending this great place to stay in Krakow. nothing really. Brick shower walls were covered with mold. Cleaning crew cleaned our to the best of their ability on day one. The last night we had to be relocated to another room because out inside a/c unit started loud alarming. The other room they gave us really smelled worse than the first. The staff tried to help us but the manager didn't seam to want to be involved. The only downside was there was some building work going on through the night but obviously this has to be done in the winter but it did not spoil our holiday. Only downside was wall to next room was extremely thin so could hear conversations!. Bathroom layout - mirror at wrong angle with sink so can't get close to mirror. Curtains need some attention - off the hooks, too small for window. Need knobs on the cupboard doors. An English news channel (eg) would be a good idea. The only thing we weren't happy with was the poor lighting in the bathroom which made it very difficult to see in the mirror. We stayed in one of the Mansard studios. Great except the blinds to the atrium allow too much light through (needs black out blinds or a curtain in front - also blinds to the top windows above the atrium) and the adjacent studio is visible and vice versa; also noise from adjoining room at night. Needs more pillows in the smaller rooms. The hotel was being renovated, so there were people working. It wasn't in any way cosy and it lacked atmosphere. Hopefully this will improve as the hotel is being renovated. No ice cubes available, but that was a very minor annoyance, and probably only Americans would miss ice. There was very little sound proofing - could hear people next door's coversations! The main entrance needs some attention although i do appreciate they are in the middle of a refurb. There was a kitchen area but no pans, cooking utensils of glasses for drinks were available?. Room was a little smaller than I expected and we couldn't turn the bathroom light on without turning on the light in the room.
