We stayed here for 2 nights while visiting lake Titicaca. The hotel is located a few steps from the Plaza de Armas. It's a nice building on a (what looks to be) safe street. Rooms are on the small side and we had a bit of a trouble with fitting our big luggage (but it should be no problem for two normal backpacks). The bed is comfortable and we slept like babies. There is also a heater in the room but never felt the need to turn it on. Breakfast is basic but good. The staff is very friendly and.

There is a lift (elevator) for those who experience some effects of the altitude. Breakfast was good and sufficient. Free WiFi is available throughout the hotel. Only 20 minutes walk to Lake Titicaca jetty. Sol Plaza has a great location just off the main plaza of Puno. The staff was impeccable and well trained. They helped us in big and little ways. The main plaza is next to a walking street filled with places to eat. Breakfast was large, with hot and cold choices. This is the best hotel we stayed in Peru. Excellent service ,very professional staff, reasonable price ($55 per night for double room) .The receptionist Luis speaks very good English and was very helpful with everything we needed. Not their fault but there was a strong smell of varnish as the wood was being redone. There isn't much to do in Puno. Bed too big for room which made it too crowded with too much furniture which wasn't really usable. Breakfast Bathroom cold and no water pressure. none. bathroom not working properly and shower not working too difficult to park or arrive at hotel on a narrow street with lots of traffic.
