Re-opening end of June 2018, Hotel Norge by Scandic is located in central Bergen, just next to Byparken city park. Guests will find 3 floors of bars, lounge areas and a restaurant. The airport shuttle bus and the city light rail system stop just next to the hotel. Bergen Fish And Flower Market is just a few minutes' walk away. Rooms are contemporary. Some offers a view over the city and Mount Ulriken. Restaurants, shopping and cultural attractions are within walking distance of the hotel. The University of Bergen is 550 metres from the hotel, while the UNESCO-listed Bryggen is about a 10-minute walk away. Bergen Train Station is 700 metres away.

I found the hotel to be well presented despite reading reviews of the rooms being dated. I also had a room at the rear of the hotel overlooking the park which was exceptionally quiet despite reading reviews about noise. When booking, if you are looking for a room away from street noise ask for a room over looking the park at the rear in 'Special Instructions/Requests. Great breakfast with a very good range of options. Helpful and pleasant staff. We had an internal room & although there was no natural light, it was silent so we slept brilliantly. It was a good size and had everything you would expect. The location is great: very central and it is easy to walk to all the attractions of the city.
all reviews » Located right in the center of Bergen. Only a minute walk to Bryggen and the sea. Very clean and because it is Radisson and has a high reputation, the people there were nice and very helpful. It was very quiet, and the airport bus leaves just around the corner of the hotel which is a great help!. We were very happy with the hotel. The family size room was perfect, and we lucked out and got a balcony (most rooms don't have a balcony). Wi-fi was strong and free, and the breakfast was fantastic. The staff was very nice and helpful. We would definitely return!. The location of the hotel is just perfect.Close to everything.We were upgraded in a business room although we had reservation for a family room because we needed more space,without extra charge!The view was amazing....The city is like a fairytale... It was the only hotel I could get in Bergen at the time and now feels pretty utilitarian. (I've visited Bergen enough to know to stay elsewhere.). The absolutely central location is excellent. Location. The childrens' bed was a (double) sofa bed with quite a thin mattress. It would be more comfortable if a single bed with pullout mattress below could be provided for families which could be set up like a sofa in the day time. Nothing!. We stayed on a friday night and it was a bit noisy till late hours. Mightbe coz we were right above the party hall. Gym equipment could be upgraded. Nothing great to mention about. - No towels at swimpool. Parking was a nightmare. Hotel charge for parking in the basement is 250 NOK for the night, with no guarantee of a space when you return if you take out your car . Not many parking options close to the hotel. We stayed on a Saturday night in November and there was a fair amount of noise from the pedestrian plaza in front of the hotel late into the night. Try to get a room that doesn't overlook the plaza.... The rooms are quite small compared to other Radission Blu properties we stayed. The hotel is repairing its front wall, so if you have the room on the same part with the main entrance you will not see anything from the window. But these rooms are offered with a discount. There was limited parking that was more expensive than I was expecting. Bikes were supposed to be provided free which we reserved in advance. When we asked to use them they were in a terrible condition completely unroadworthy. We had to hire 2 bikes at 200 NOK for 1 day. Breakfast time was very busy, but, that's not the hotel's fault. Be warned that this hotel sits across from a strip club and several other late night party establishments that bring out loud, drunken revelers at 2 am...on the streets and in the corridor outside your room. I suspect the hotel dates from the 1960s and it is starting - just starting - to show its age. It needs a little updating in places. Poor breakfast, old bath rooms. Noise from the street in front of the hotell. Nothing. TV, Wanted more English Channels. The door between our room and the room next to us should be better insulated! We could listen to their conversation as if they where in our room!. On the bedside-table it was much dust. broken air-condition on the room. Furniture and decoration is old and you must change. This hotel is now old and expensive for what you get (even compared to Norwegian prices). It was being refurbished at the time, but there was very little disruption. Even the executive rooms are tiny by modern standards. On the top (9th) floor the shower hot water went off completely one morning and stuttered badly on the other morning. Some of the corners in the room needed better cleaning. some common areas that must restored. Our room had no outdoor windows and neither did the hallway. We felt like we were in a cave. It was kind of creepy. Our room window faced an interior conference room and we could see the legs of the piano player. Kind of odd. It appeared that these rooms were given to families with young children. Business class had the rooms with windows. Not a family-friendly place necessarily. The rooms are dated and need to be renovated to be more consistent with the Radisson Blu flag. For the price the service was not special or friendly. Was just okay. Swimming pool was cold No safe in room Televison was difficult to view from seating. Decore feels tired. Breakfast room, staff at breakfast, rooms badly need refurbishment. Old, unrefurbished. facilities are old and should be improved. being wakened at 1.00am by loud music outside (after a long day travelling) followed by noise from nightclub on at least 2 nights. Got my bill wrong.charged double for everything until I pointed it out. Shower very old and poor. First room had no view only plastic and scaffolding so had to ask to move. Beds are very uncomfortable. Main bed for adults like other hotels gives additional! Conditioning system does not work. Room service very pour. Interior very old and requests refurbishment. Not value for money and not according to Radisson Blu standards!. Poor customer service and poor housekeeping service. Shabby rooms. No children playroom. Old and poor looking hotel! Expensive. No free parking in hotel! Bad aircondition in room. Elevators from early 70's, slow as hell...We ordered a room with a view but only got a view to what looked like an inside old and unused conferencehall! And we stayed in an old upgraded family room! 2 nights in a family room and a single room was a total of 7300NOK(!) with only breakfast included! 3 adults and one 2yrs old!. Unfriendly greeting from staff Tried to overcharge me Room with no natural light or outside windows. Would have been nice 10 years ago. Rude and useless front desk staff. Rooms are old, run down.
