Apartment was clean and comfortable at was exactly what we wanted it to be. After a day skiing the spa was fantastic. Staff were very responsive when there was a problem with the smoke alarm. Great location to spend five days discovering Wanaka. Great modern unit with a full size kitchen, lock up garage and large living area. Lovely views. Really enjoyed the spa after a long day driving. The beds were comfortable. One of the best units we stayed in whilst in NZ.
all reviews » We received a very warm welcome, the apartment had everything you could wish for, a very high standard of cleanliness and quality chattels, close to town approx 5 min drive. Spacious and comfortable apartment. Peaceful area of town. Good recreational facilities, especially heated pool and adjoined spa. Didn't stay long enough!. 1 week in New Zealand was too short for me..... Nothing I didnt like about Alpine Wanaka Resort. A little bit out of town (without transport). Perhaps on the expensive side for this time of year (Nov13). The couch was extremely uncomfortable to sit on. It seemed unsprung and had a big dip in the middle. The weather was freezing while we were there. The heater seemed to go all the time which was just as well, as there was a huge draught coming in under the door from the garage. We stopped this by putting the bath mat and a face cloth along the edge of the door. Suggest this could be looked into to help electricity consumption and make the units warmer. leaving. No bedside table in master room. What's that about?? Happy to reuse towels but towel rail not working so very hard to get towels dry!. A little far from downtown and lake. Nowt. No view of the lake or mountains (does not apply to the whole resort - only some of the rooms). not the best for one night stay, better suited for extended stay. nothing. Long walk to centre of town Garage too small for 4WD. Open hours of the office were restricting Perhaps opening at 7.30am would be better?. Attitude of the staff is extremely rude; service is poor.

Travelling information

From Lake Hawea, Cromwell or Tarras (Highway 84): As you enter Wanaka from Lake Hawea, Cromwell or Tarras (Highway 84) you will see Puzzleworld on your left, exactly 1km from there on your right is Anderson Road. From Queenstown via Cardrona and the Crown Range (Highway 89): When approaching from Queenstown via Cardrona and the Crown Range (Highway 89) turn right when you reach the lakefront and travel through Wanaka and on up the hill, Anderson Road is on your left opposite the golf course. You will find us at the end of Anderson Road on the left hand side at the corner of Aubrey Road.
