We booked an extra day (prior to our original booking), originally we were not able to book into the same room, however when we arrived lovely staff had arranged another room so that we did not have to book out and back in again. This way we were Abe to relax more. All staff were lovely. I also stay at Oaks on Charlotte when staying in Brisbane. Staff were excellent and most helpful with any request. We were on 8th floor and although we didn't have harbour views we found our two bedroom apartment was spacious and comfortable and wifi was good Cold water unit in reception was a bonus to the bottled water in the fridge daily.
all reviews » Having a balcony so we could let fresh air in, easy walk to city, had a carpark and the room was very functional and clean for what we needed. The House keeping manager was awesome, he made my stay so enjoyable as he was always smiling, laid back and happy. The room was very comfortable, with full cooking facilities and washing machine and had a pleasant outlook towards the bay. A continental breakfast was included in the very reasonable price. I would certainly recommend the apartment hotel to my friends. the overall friendliness of all staff, locality, effort to assist,the precise way in which everything was explained to us and the availability of car parking. we did enjoy the view from the more than generous balcony, outdoor chairs could be a plus. Modern, comfortable facilities. Balcony with sliding door for extra fresh air at night. Air conditioning was good. Very convenient to Aotea Centre for concerts, movies, art gallery and shopping. Safe area for an older woman walking home at night. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, staff on reception were very friendly and helpful. We would definately stay again as a couple but if travelling with the kids I would look for somewhere with 2 singles in one room. Nice clean facilities. The room was tastefully decorated. The reception staff were helpful and friendly. The overal experience was great. We were a group of four and we all agree on the above and would stay there again. I really enjoyed staying at Auckland Oaks because the interior was modern and had nice furnishings. The bed was comfortable and housekeeping were really friendly. We had a good deal price wise, which made it excellent value for money. Good location to walk everywhere, 20 minutes to waterfront. The staff was excelent, and the facilities and also from the hotel you can move for every were you can take a nice walk and visited a lot places just take the bus with out car. room is walking distance to restaurants and shops; room was small but adequate for a nights stay; and breakfast provided in the room for the same price, was more than expected;. Nice to be able to listen to music in the room if you had Juice. the lack of no cleaning staff on a public holiday does not go well with a tourist orientated facility. Breakfast. Good that it was provided but who wants to eat cake for breakfast; stale cake at that. Yoghurt and banana was ok but as there was a toaster provided, why not some bread for toast and some cereal?. In regards to families it would have been alot better to beable to have 2 singles in one of the rooms instead of 1 Queen in each. And the other thing would be the breakfast.....who eats cake and museli bars for breakfast...wld be better to either have an assortment of cereals or maybe bread and spreads for toast. The laundry machine was a bit confusing to use. The dryer takes nearly the whole night to dry a small quantity of clothes. Apartment a little grubby. Main lights in both bedrooms not working when we first arrived, fixed next morning. Dishwasher not working and not fixed during our 5 night stay. Breakfast ok but would not be our choice. Not always fresh, just topped up. A bit noisy being close to police station,make sure you turn the air on and close windows at night, for quiet sleep. Didn't like the cakie thing for breakfast. Got toaster and last two days you delivered bread with breakfast. Much appreciated. Sorry we could not find any sport channels on TV. Lounge area was small but adequate. We felt mislead by the name of "harbourside" when we had to walk several blocks to the quay. The main thoroughfare south made it noisy at night. both times that we been there the washing machines were broken!!.... room had a small hallway at entrance and there was a balcony but no view as you looked directly and were close to another building. That I only stayed 1 night!. Maybe offer the option of booking a carpark when u make a booking. We were lucky to secure a car park on our 2nd night and definitely lucky that we got a park on the street for our first night. The fact it was in a run down area. It wasn't nice to see people on drugs in the street and sleeping in doorways. Maybe do cheaper rates for staying longer. Disappointed with the 810 room on the 8th floor because of noisy fridge and neighbour,s AC . Cake for breakfast - would prefer toast/spreads and/or cereal. Breakfast was a bit basic and the muffin was a slice of cake. Some of the cleaning was not quiet to standard, around the kitchen area sides of the bench etc. Breakfast was a bit poor- but fare and I like the fact that it's delivered to you in your room the day before. The free breakfast was a bit disapointing, the ad showed muffins but it was slices of cake.(not a real choice for breakfast).Perhaps some bread, jam and butter would of been a better choice, so you could make some toast.The armchairs are not very comfortable and the main light in the lounge and one of the bed lights did not work. Only 1 satchet of dishwasher powder provided and no cloth to wipe down surfaces after cooking. nothing... A little cramp for a one bedroom apartment, expected a bigger layout from the pictures online. Ok for one person, may be a little small for 2. The included breakfast, while convenient, could become tiresome because of the sameness after a day or so. I would like to have had some dishwashing liquid to use as it is uneconomical to use a dishwasher for a couple of cups and plates etc. Did not like the muffins, but that is just me!. Small bedrooms, safe wouldn't work in room, probably because it wasn't open on arrival, noisy bathroom light! But wasn't too bad! Our friends on floor 7 received a complimentary bottle of wine!!. Breakfast included means yoghurt and banana in fridge so dont get too excited. Just a bit of noise coming from the floor directly above, not enough to ring and complain about as there is no way you would not get this in this sort of accommodaton. The luggage storage room wasn't really very secure. The lighting was not very bright. The shower floor was very slippery. Ridge in doorway of Bathroom and Living area. The building site next door did disturb us in the morning and we felt we couldn't go out onto the balcony as the hiders could see in. Nothing really, a lounge maybe, but that would be difficult to fit in the space. being woken up to a fire alarm at 5am. Parking can be a hassle, however where isn't it in Auckland. Only complaint was when fire alarm went off at 6.30am and building needed to be evacuated, no staff member communicated any update of situation to people standing in their pyjamas in the carpark.
