our cruise ship arrived back in Auckland at 8.00am the hotel staff were really helpful and gladly assisted us with the storage of our luggage until check in at 2.00pm the location of this facility is excellent the suite was lovely and clean spacious with all the equipment that you need great value for your money the views are absolutely stunning the staff are very polite and most helpful a huge thank you from us all we will definitely stay again.

On both visits the reception staff were welcoming, friendly, practical and quick to follow up any requests. They made our stay a pleasure. I ticked the solo box because the options don't apply to my situation. The first time I was with my teenage daughter, the second with my elderly mother who needed special assistance at times. Apartment exceeded our expectations especially with the ensuite. Spectacular views. Super clean & comfortable. Reception were really friendly & helpful. Secure carparking available. Kitchen was fully equipped. Huge fridge. Would rate our stay as a 9.5 out of 10. Definitely would stay again without any hesitation. The location was pretty convenient to walking around the city. Th beds were comfortable. I especially liked having free wi-fi. (I don't think it is always free but we bought a package at letsbookhotel.com that included it.) The front desk staff person was very nice and check-in and check out was very easy. It was so nice having a washer and dryer, DVD player and kitchen in the room, especially since we were traveling with our three year old son. The staff was very helpful and responsive to our needs. The room was clean and the hotel is in a very convienent location. I would definitely recommend this hotel!. I liked how there were views from both rooms and lounge. plus a small balcony off the lounge to have a cigarette when I had a couple of wines before going out for the evening. I was pleased with the funky workable kitchen space. Finally the Free wifi was a great bonus. I enjoyed our stay here. Every member of staff was welcoming and helpful. The lifts are occasionally a little frustrating as they click off the floor that you have previously pressed and you can end up going up and down a few times before getting to your destination. We were only given 1 key card between 2 - this was sometimes difficult as the card was required to operate the lifts and to get out the front door. Possibly 2 keys per couple would be more appropriate. The noise at night during our first stay. There could be more attention to thorough cleaning. A shower over bath isn't ideal for elderly people. A couple of minor issues ie no Wifi and no reference to any nearby restaurants. The room had an odor of recently cooked Indian food when we got in it. The windows were all opened, I guess to air it out, and it did air out eventually. Another thing that was puzzling was that I could not find a thermostat anywhere in the apartment. I don't think it had heat or air. I never did ask the front desk as we were only there one night. I just closed the windows before bed and the covers kept us warm enough, and then I re-opened the windows the next day. The only thing was not having enough bedding on the beds, I also went to wardrobe to get a spare blanket, but alas, there were none. We've thought long and hard to find a fault but there really wasn't anything we didn't like. Not one thing. There were no face cloths in bathroom the bathroom kept flooding after every shower as the shower door is not big enough bathroom too small electrical points on hairdryer were starting to break. The room could have used some drawer space for storage. Shower screen was quite dangerous with glass moving and area quite narrow, would have been better with fixed screen. Swimming pool was not open due to maintenance. Bed was soft for us and a bit small. Parking costs. Just a two-person set of dishes (you have to wash after each meal), old TV, a little bit warn out. Some people might find it discouraging that it's basically a red light district (no hussle or noize disturbed us anyway). Nothing. - Was surprised with a $250 bond on arrival - Carpet was damanged in our room. We had a 1 bedroom suite which was a little small. That we had no drawers. Leaking fridge that had to have a towel in it (which was replaced by cleaners daily..so thanks for that). Toilets were difficult to flush almost had to pump to flush.limited parking we had to park in building across the road where we had to move the car by 8am fortunately the staff at hotel let me then park in their building as a place was available by then for no extra charge as was only for three hours. the fact that I am a female who was working long hours and didn't feel secure to walk the streets after dark with the strip clubs across the road and down the corner. Also, I was awoken each night by noise from the clubs, I assume as they threw patrons out. Also, I'm not sure why my other guests and I had to give CC for incidentals when there was no mini-bar or in room service available?. The bathroom door wouldn't latch, the toaster couldn't be used at all because it blew the circuit breaker/fuse every time, and the buttons to flush the toilet were so hard to push that anyone elderly or frail could not have flushed. The guy who delivered the breakfast each day didn't wait long after knocking. He just came right in. The bed wasn't particularly comfy, think it was two singles put together. Gym equipment was a little old and they need new floor mats but what was there worked and it was clean. The room needed an iPod player for an iPod/iPhone so as to play music. Parking - there were none was a bit of hallse but this was a minor issue . nothing really, it really suited our circumstances, it was clean and we felt comfortable. think they should have duoble glazing as street noise was quite loud but we were high up so not too bad. We changed rooms as the first was on same side as building works, staff were lovely no probs and even helped moved all our stuff inc crib to new room. Reception staff were slow... and not very knowledgeable. However, still very friendly and smiling... just no experience (felt like a student accommodation). Too much admin required: why do I have to give all the details electronically for booking, and then fill-out a from at reception giving the same details again?! Why do you require a photo id, and make copy thereof...?! Only one swipe card was available for us three. Small bathroom, small tv. Blinds were broken and did not keep the city lights out. Need better window coverage. Nothing I can think of. only problem was using the access swipe card to get in to the lobby and room, but rang the reception staff and they sorted it out very quickly for us, also no heater in room but staff sorted that out too. Only couple of minor things: Mirror in bathroom needed replacing, badly broken around edge of sliding panel and no soap provided, TV remote had flat batteries. Only there one night, not long enough to find much wrong, but different teas and a hot chocolate would be nice as I don't drink coffee!. Nearby club was very noisy, so were people in next room having a party, but sound-proofing was good provided we closed the windows. Extremely small 2 bedroom apartment with only 1 bathroom, had trouble fitting luggage into bedroom there was so little space. Kitchen only seats 2 but there were 4 of us. Shower over bath but no handrail to hold climbing in or out of bath. Pool could have been a bit warmer. That would have been nice. Found that the salt and pepper shakers were empty. upon arrival as per arrangement for special request with our luggage, the staff member who checked us in was a little rude. In the manner of following our request. quote" We dont DO THAT" even though I had an email confirmation.

Oaks Residences is centrally located on the corner of Fort and Gore street in Auckland. The modern complex contains 37 levels consisting of Studio, One bedroom and Two bedroom apartments. Just a short walk to the Auckland Waterfront, the Britomart Transport Centre and the Viaduct Harbour.

Amenities include a ground floor retail precinct, heated lap pool and gymnasium. Residences offers accommodation in the tallest apartment tower in New Zealand with beautiful views of the harbour.
