This hotel was an absolutely fantastic place to stay and we will definitely be booking again. Literally minutes walk from Auckland city centre and a great location for surrounding restaurants and cafes. Our room was very clean and comfortable and we even had a little balcony with views out to Rangitoto island. The staff were all very helpful and it was great value for money. what more could you ask for?.

A breakfast of Cinnamon Croissant French Toast with caramelised banana, bacon and maple syrup in bed from room service was to die for - thank you Chef!. Good location - walking distance to city centre and Parnell. Paid a good price for one double room at the last minute booking. Huge TV and room had lots of space. Also had a small balcony. Quiet at night. Parking available on site at extra cost. Great services and hotel and room is clean. Free Breakfast, nice evening meal - best I have ever had in Auckland, friendly staff, helpful staff, looking after our luggage before and after we had checked out, compfortable lounge, nice bedroom, nice bed. Closeness to Vector Arena. The location (very close to Vector Arena) was the reason I booked it..LOVED the bed sooooo comfortable, and the pillows were lovely - not great big high hard ones like in other motels.. very friendly staff and clean tidy rooms. Paying for WIFI -other places I have stayed this is free. - Loud Fridge buzzing - Coughing water pipes that spluttered waking me up - Shower leaked water onto bathroom floor - Shower head made a "wheezing" sound from the pressure - Over priced mini bar items (chips and kitkat mainly) - no central room-light - Terrible wireless connection. If the wireless is so bad that it doesn't allow me to post anything to forums and such, you need to provide a longer cable. It was only with the cable that I could use the internet properly. - Rough looking hallways. No mini bar, forgotten after new cabinet installed! Door to balcony didnt lock, told it should have had directions but didnt. No major problem for us though. Alittle pricey food on room service menu but tasted good.(small portion) Breakfast food not hot. Air conditioning a bit too loud. Limited car parking available on a first in first served basis; older room; could hear water pipes banging when the floor above showered; headboard not secured firmly enough to wall. Walking up hill (the shortcut) on zig-zag path not very well lit. Our room was being refurbished and did not have a fridge. Did not have time to check this out when first arrived as late for concert. Too late when returned. Only staying overnight so did not then worry. nothing that we can think of. All the drinks in the fridge were frozen. Perhaps fridge was turned down temp wise by a previous guest. Would say check the contents and temp of fridge more maybe. but overall its not a big deal. The T.V. was too big for the size of the bedroom and the reception was very poor. The resturant was very dated and the furniture was stained and the outlook (into the carpark) was not very appealing. Not really made to feel welcome by reception. No personal touch. They had our money so they didn't have to make any effort was the impression I got. Couldn't find fan in bathroom for air extraction. May have been us. Décor of the bathroom was a bit tired by it didn't really matter. Furnishings beginning to become tired. Though this must be a constant upgrading problem. very good but noticed the odd door to other rooms needed oil on hinges and felt strips on doors to make them quieter but overall very good. there was no drinking water or any other drinks and snacks in the room. Also, the WiFi was expensive. The interior is dated. signs of long usage on furniture. The room was tired and in need of a make over. Bathroom mainly. We felt the decor of the room was not up to the hotel foyer. Whether we had a cheap deal therefore a cheap room was the impression we came away with. But still value for the money we paid. As we holiday in camping grounds more often then motel or hotel. Car parking limited in the hotel car park. room and foyer near lift level 4 and 5 smelt musty, smoky. possibility of not being able to park as there where only a few spaces. Would prefer fresh milk in room, but can understand the issues around providing it. N/a. Noise from other rooms, including shower and toilets flushing, no fridge. No where to put the jug. car parking facilities. Being woken both mornings at the same time of 7.20am by the maids chattering right outside my door - didn't get much rest whilst there as a result. The parking situation, as in the lack of parking, is awful. We really enjoyed staying there and would be regulars if only for the lack of parking. Cost of Internet. No breakfast discount for residents unlike the other Copthorne. couldn't use the free wireless in my room corridors were very grubby, carpets need replacing and walls need painting. Everthing was as I expected. only 20 min. internet for free... The bathroom was mediocre.
