It is very clean and excellent location in Maastricht and I wish to comeback to it again. location, comfort. I had stayed at this hotel several time before and I come back because it is friendly, clean, in a good location for my purposes, and reasonably priced. This time it was better "value for money" than usual because I had booked a double room for 2 but we were put in a "studio", with sitting area, kitchen, cooking and dining equipment, etc. all reviews »
Having stayed at this hotel very many times since 1983, the DU Casque always offers a good location,a comfort zone, and friendly helpful staff. Large room, very friendly reception staff, great location, nice and quiet. The location is superb! Right in the center of everything. Very good location. It was one thing need to be fixed in the bathroom which is the washinghands ( sink ) always closed after any washing. It can be noisy at night because of the proximity to cafés, etc. This didn't bother us as we're both good sleepers regardless of noise, but some people might not like it. Our room was on the 5th floor and the lift only went up to the 4th floor. Again, we didn't mind this but for some people it might be a problem.There was no bar as such but you could buy drinks to take to the room. Equally there was a cafe next door that served the function well. On the 1st day, there wasn't any hot water - but it was fixed ratherquickly...No free wifi access. We thought it was odd that there were no face cloths in the bathroom, just paper towels.Some people may not like fact that it looks onto main square and cantherefore be noisy but this did not bother us. quite noisy due to location, room a bit gloomy. The beds were quite soft. I prefer more back support, but I understand that this largely a matter of preference. the room was very cramped. Only a minor niggle but the hotel did not provide any tea or coffee in our room - we thought this was a little unusual as our room was well-stocked with mugs (and other crockery) and even tea and coffee cannisters!. No fitness room, no business center, no concierge. The decor is very dated and the room not very big. But this is why it is so affordable I guess. beds too soft. Our initial room facing the street was very noisy, and we had a very badnight. However the next morning we were moved to an inside room and itwas very comfortable and quiet. Somewhat noisy from outside. the noise; the price of internet; no business centre (ie printer for guests attending conferences, etc). No lift to 5th floor no double bed. Door to shower room and the hotel was very dated. Decor, beds, style in general. cleanliness. rooms and bathroom are not very comfortable, the hotel is too expensive for this standard. The room was not very clean and the sewers smelled. We kept the bathroom door closed and yet the smell came to the otherside of the room. The beds were really soft (and the pillow on the contrary really tough), which caused back ache. The colouring of the room was a bit, well, strange as well. The walls were light pink, the carpet deap red and the bathroom was bright green. Dirty rooms, (socks and underwear of other people under the beds, )veryload, dangerous elevator, pld locker systems, not safety feeling becausedoors are not lockable.Everything was poor. The bathroom was ancient and dirty, the bed was uncomfortable and although we wanted a double we got two singles pushed together, the staff were seldom at their desk so we had to wait for our keys, etc. No facilities in the hotel.
